Welcome to Laramie, Wyoming, where the Appalachian State Mountaineers take on their host, the Cowboys.
This city has already seen a big upset this year, as Wyoming upset Texas Tech 35-33 in dramatic fashion in Week 1. The Cowboys beat Portland State in Week 2 before losing in Austin to the Texas Longhorns 31-10 last week.
This Saturday, they host the Appalachian State Mountaineers, who are looking for their first road win of the season.
Laramie is a tough place to get it done, as the Red Raiders of Lubbock will tell you.
Let’s breakdown this game with our best bets!

Will Appalachian State Pull Off Upset on Road?
I don’t think so.
I love Wyoming in this spot.
The Cowboys hosted Texas Tech, and beat them outright as 14 point underdogs. They went on to handle business against Portland State, and then put up a fight against Texas, as it was 10-10 after three quarters.
On the other sideline, Appalachian State has home wins against Gardner-Webb and East Carolina, two very inferior opponents. The Mountaineers went on the road and forced overtime against #17 North Carolina before losing 40-34.
Straight up, I think the Cowboys are the better team, and will gladly pay the juiceman on their ML this weekend at home.
The Pick: Wyoming ML (-145) Bovada
Points, Points, Points?
I can’t get a read on this total, but it is moving down. After opening around 45, the total is down to 42.5 across the market.
Appalachian State generates over 450 yards of total offense per game, but they allow nearly 400 yards as well. On the flip side, Wyoming creates around 325 yards per game, but give up over 350.
The Cowboys held Texas to just 10 points in the first three quarters before falling apart in the 4th, I think Wyoming shuts down Appalachian State and never looks back.
I’ll stay off the total as I could see this potentially being a shootout if the Mountaineers figure out this Cowboy defense.
