The annual Iron Bowl is one of those college football rivalries where anything can happen. Alabama has had the upper hand on Auburn since Nick Saban took over in Tuscaloosa, but the Tigers have won three of the last four
Last week against Arkansas, Alabama QB Bryce Young produced a record-setting performance, but the Tide still had trouble putting away Arkansas. This team is more vulnerable than recent iterations.
Auburn has struggled for consistency all season. But if new coach Bryan Harsin can beat Alabama, all will be forgiven.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs Auburn Tigers Betting Preview
Alabama’s Bryce Young was amazing last week, but they still only beat Arkansas by a touchdown. Their result and others locked up the Western Division and a date with Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, but they still have to be focused on this one because they might not be able to afford another loss and still make it into the playoffs.
Led by Young, who is now behind Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud in the latest Heisman Trophy odds, Alabama’s offense has been amazing all season. The defense has playmakers, but that second group has proven to be soft at times. Scoring a ton of points is their best path to winning and to impressing the CFP committee if they have to.
The first season for coach Bryan Harsin has been up and down, but that is basically Auburn football in a nutshell. There is always talent, and the thought was the guy from Boise State would be able to maximize it. So far, we have not seen it. The Tigers have lost three in a row, and last week’s loss at South Carolina really stings. Running back Tank Bigsby put up his best game of the season, but they fell because they couldn’t get into the end zone enough. Now is a game where they can let it all hang out, for better or for worse.
Alabama Crimson Tide vs Auburn Tigers Best Bet
Over 55.5
Alabama is averaging 44 points per game, and it is not unreasonable to expect them to match or surpass that number against Auburn. They are a good bet to cover the spread too, but I like the offense to be especially shiny. Alabama is looking to polish their CFP resume, and Young is looking to enhance his Heisman hopes, and they will be aiming to inflict as much misery as possible on the rival Tigers as well.
My hunch is that Auburn quarterback TJ Finley is going to make some big plays, possibly for both sides. This is Harsin’s first crack at the Iron Bowl, and I think we can count on some trickery too. Arkansas showed last week that Alabama can be vulnerable to that. But it won’t be enough to help the Tigers pull what would be a major upset.
Alabama vs Auburn College Football Score Prediction
Alabama 49, Auburn 31
