#2 Oregon vs Purdue Predictions
Short week for both Purdue and Oregon, as they come off massive games in Week 7.
Purdue suffered a heartbreaking 50-49 overtime loss to Illinois as 22.5-point underdogs. The Boilermakers shocked the nation, racking up over 500 yards of offense, nearly 240 on the ground, and averaging 9.2 yards per play. This was against a defense that typically allows 24 points and 378 total yards per game. Prior to this, Purdue had only covered once, against Indiana State in Week 1, going 0-4 SU and ATS outside of that.

Now they host Oregon, fresh off a thrilling 32-31 victory over Ohio State. The Ducks celebrated by storming the field after taking down No. 2 Ohio State, a huge win as they settle into the Big Ten. But after that emotional high, they now have to travel all the way to West Lafayette.
This will be Oregon’s first trip out east this season. While Purdue might not be their toughest opponent, there’s a big difference in mindset—one team is upset after a close loss, and the other is on cloud nine after a close win.
The line opened at 30.5 in favor of Oregon. I jumped on it right away, so I’ve got Purdue +30.5 on my card, and I still think 27.5 is too high. Oregon’s a great team, but they’re in a bit of a look-ahead spot with Illinois and Michigan looming. I don’t see them being too focused on running up the score against Purdue, who should be all hands on deck against the No. 2 team in the country.
Fade the storm. Give me Purdue (+27.5).
