One of the more intriguing matchups on today’s college basketball schedule is a non-conference showdown in the Emerald City. After upsetting Gonzaga last weekend, Washington will look to avoid the upset bug themselves as they face Seattle University at Climate Pledge Arena (8:00 pm ET, ESPN+).
The Huskies (6-3) are taking the court for the first time since they knocked off Gonzaga 78-73 eight days ago. It was a huge, huge win for Washington, who trailed by double digits in the second half but stormed back to stun the Bulldogs at Alaska Airlines Arena.

This evening, they will hope to not be on the receiving end of an upset, as they face a tricky test against the Redhawks (6-4).
Seattle U doesn’t have any notable wins thus far this season, but they have competed very well against the toughest opponents on their schedule. Most recently, the Redhawks fell by three points at San Francisco on Wednesday. They led by 15 halfway through the first half and by seven at halftime, but the offense dried up in the second half in a 62-59 loss.

Washington vs Seattle U Prediction and Picks
Prediction: Washington to win
This could be a challenging game for the Huskies, but I expect them to pass this test.
Washington has had some poor non-conference losses in recent seasons, losing at home to Northern Illinois and Winthrop two seasons ago and to Cal Baptist at home last season, but they have avoided those banana peels thus far this season.
Is that a sign that a corner is being turned and March Madness is a real possibility? We’ll see how they handle Pac-12 play, but it is encouraging and gives me confidence about how they will fare tonight.
Picks: Washington/Seattle U First Half Over 70 & Washington/Seattle U Over 148 (Both at BetOnline – Bet These Lines & Get a 100% Bonus on Your First Cryptocurrency Deposit)
The offense did dry up for the Redhawks against San Francisco, but they have four players averaging double figures, led by Cameron Tyson (17.9 PPG, 4.7 RPG), who is shooting 39.7% on 8.7 three-point attempts per game.
Over his last four games, Tyson is averaging 23.8 PPG and is shooting 47.9% (34 of 71) overall from the field and 45.7% (21 of 46) from three. In three of those four games, he has made six or more threes. If he can keep his hot streak going and get some decent support, that will only enhance the likelihood that both totals go over, even if the Redhawks don’t sniff the upset.
