#15 Texas Tech vs #18 Baylor Prediction
A juiced-up Big 12 matchup between the Red Raiders and the Bears. Both teams should be coming off losses, but with what would have been an Iowa State game-winning shot at the buzzer, it was waived off. Baylor nearly blew a 20-point lead to Iowa State at home. Yes, I am still upset.
Texas Tech has hit a rough patch, losing three of their last 5 five games. In that span, losing to Houston, TCU, and Cincinnati on Saturday. This should be an excellent spot for the Red Raiders to get back on track. Especially if Baylor does not bounce back after that awful second half against Iowa State.
The Stank:
Of course, I am fading the team that could not finish the job on Saturday. After that disgusting finish against Iowa State, I have to fade the Bears.
AGONY FOR IOWA STATE AS A WOULD BE BUZZER BEATER THREE FOR THE WIN IS OFF JUST AFTER THE CLOCK REACHES ZERO AND BAYLOR WINS pic.twitter.com/vU7cAN0fSu

Especially when the Bears will be defending one of the best offenses in the country. The Red Raiders have been lights out offensively, inside the top 50 in 3-point percentage, eFG% offense, and free throw percentage. On the road, facing teams inside the top 50, they are eighth in adjusted offensive efficiency. Essentially, saying, “We do not care who we are playing; we are going to get buckets.”
Their defense is nothing special, no matter how you look at it. However, the Red Raiders do excel at guarding the inside. They are 53rd in 2-point defense against the top 50 teams on the road this season.
Baylor has been playing some of their best ball at home. However, against the top 50 teams, the Bears have struggled to defend the three; Bart Torvik has them 283rd in 3-point defense. The Red Raiders will make their night a living hell if they do not step up their perimeter defense. Texas Tech is first in 3-point percentage on the road.
After their collapse against Iowa State, a school that struggles to play outside of Ames, Iowa. I have to fade Baylor. Give me the Red Raiders.
Prediction: Baylor Wins
Concerns: Baylor has a massive bounce back game following their collapse against Iowa State.

Where to find more advanced analytics
If you are looking for advanced analytic websites for college basketball Bart Torvik and Haslametrics are my favorite two. They are free and very informative. Ken Pom is another great resource, but sadly you have to pay.
Remember, these are mostly used as a crutch. Do not let these be the end all be all to making wagers. They are not always right with their predictions. Use your plums, trust your gut, and remember you cannot win them all. If you have any questions my socials are below I am always free to discuss anything college hoops. Especially, if it is over a game that will have under 23 people in attendance.
