See Picks & Statistics For The GameWhen two grind-it-out teams collide, you can expect a game that will test your patience as much as your excitement. Providence and Seton Hall both pride themselves on defense and slow tempo, setting the stage for what could be a low-scoring slugfest. While their last meeting saw an uncharacteristic offensive explosion, do not count on history repeating itself this time around.

Providence vs Seton Hall Best Bet
Get ready to start painting, because watching paint dry might be more entertaining than this rock fight. These two slower-paced teams already faced off earlier this month, with the Friars taking care of business at home, beating the Pirates 91-85. Now, this may seem like the perfect spot to back the Pirates in a revenge game, but I think the under is the way to go. “BuT CoLbY tHeY sCoReD 176 PoInTs In ThEiR LaSt MaTcHuP.” That should not happen again, especially with Seton Hall dictating tonight’s pace.
At home, the Pirates play slower than your parents getting out of bed on Christmas morning. They rank 23rd slowest at home this season, boasting a top-150 defense while owning the 21st worst offense in the country. Their main focus is dominating on defense. They are one of the best teams in the nation at forcing turnovers, ranking 16th best at home. Add in their fantastic shot-blocking and strong interior defense, and it is clear why this team thrives on that side of the ball. However, their offense is so bad it makes you wonder how they managed to score 85 points against Providence. This offense has surpassed 70 points in just five of their 20 games this season.
Providence also leans on defense, ranked 52nd in adjusted defensive efficiency on the road. The Friars are excellent at rebounding, defending the paint, and blocking shots. Offensively, they struggle in a few key areas: they rank 23rd worst at getting to the free-throw line, 256th in three-point percentage, and 20th worst in avoiding blocked shots—playing right into Seton Hall’s hands with their efficient shot-blocking.
The Friars will likely match the Pirates’ slow, methodical tempo. Overall, Providence ranks 271st in tempo this season. With revenge in the air, Seton Hall’s defense should be ready to prevent this Providence offense from scoring another 90 points.
Give me the under. Give me a rock fight!
