Rebels Face Tar Heels in NCAA Tournament

While the Rebels are a very good team and matchup well against Carolina, the Tar Heels offense is a different animal. The Rebels defense has had issues slowing down high powered offenses, and the last team I would want to play right now is North Carolina.

All they’ve heard is how they don’t belong, despite winning 9/11 down the stretch. They went out and demolished San Diego State (who also didn’t belong) and now have the chance to really gain some more momentum and ride it into the Round of 32. North Carolina had a short trip from Dayton to Milwaukee, so I don’t expect jet lag or travel to be an issue, and instead I am leaning on them dominating the pace of play and daring the Rebels to keep up with them.

I certainly like the over, and I lean with Carolina, so while I do endorse both, I’ll take a different approach.

I hope I’m not kicking myself later for taking the team total instead of the ML, but regardless, I see North Carolina putting the ball in the hoop. They have much more to play for, and the offense is incredibly dangerous right now.

The Tar Heels are already Top 20 in offensive efficiency and Top 50 in eFG%, but they are playing in the Top 10 in both over their last 10 games. They love to run, and the Rebels are Top 100 in pace as well, meaning we should see plenty of possessions. Ole Miss ranks 159th in eFG% Defense this year, but they are bottom 35 in the nation over their last 10 contests. I think we see plenty of back and forth in this game, and right now North Carolina is simply the much hotter team.

Back the Tar Heels to score plenty and secure a 2nd NCAA Tournament win this year.
