The only college basketball action taking place on Christmas Eve is the conclusion of the Diamond Head Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. And in the championship game of the event, Nevada will take on Georgia Tech (9:00 pm ET, ESPN).
Both teams enter the championship contest with four straight wins.
The Wolf Pack (11-1) opened the tournament with a 24-point win over Temple on Thursday, then put in a dominant display in a highly impressive 13-point win over TCU in the semis on Friday.

Georgia Tech (8-3, 1-0 ACC) has emerged victorious in two tight games in Honolulu. The Yellow Jackets edged UMass by three on Thursday, then held off Hawaii by five in the semis to set up today’s tilt against the Wolf Pack.
While a win for Nevada wouldn’t necessarily be a major needle mover regarding their March Madness resume, it would be a big boost for Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets already own wins over Mississippi State and Duke, and a win over Nevada would give them a third solid win as they head into the thick of ACC play.

Nevada vs Georgia Tech Prediction and Picks
I can certainly admit that I was wrong about how Nevada would fare against TCU.
The Horned Frogs led for a good portion of the first half, but over the final eight and a half minutes before the break, the Wolf Pack outscored them 28-13 to take a 48-36 lead into the locker room.
In the second half, Nevada didn’t let TCU get within striking distance, as they pulled within single digits only once.
A strong effort on both ends helped the Wolf Pack record their best win of the season, as they shot 52.0% from the field, including 47.1% from three, and held the Horned Frogs to just 45.3% from the field.
Buckets may be harder to come by for Nevada today, as Georgia Tech is in the top 25 nationally in three-point defense and just outside the top 40 in field goal defense.
But the Wolf Pack, who are inside the top 30 in field goal defense (38.8%) and hold teams to 30.0% from three, are a strong team defensively as well, coming in 31st in adjusted defensive efficiency.
Look for that defense aptitude to be on display again as the Wolf Pack pick up some hardware to take back to Reno.
