Inside the final two weeks of the NCAA basketball regular season, the Mountain West is still in a strong position to receive six bids. Two of those six teams will lock horns tonight in Fort Collins, Colorado as Isaiah Stevens and Colorado State host Jarod Lucas and Nevada (10:30 pm ET, FS1).
The Rams (20-8, 8-7 Mountain West) continue to struggle to win away from home, as they were swept on the road by New Mexico and UNLV last week.
But CSU is in near-lock status for March Madness and on course to be a single-digit seed because of a 14-1 home record and home wins over Colorado, New Mexico, San Diego State, Boise State, and Utah State, as well as a neutral-site win over Creighton.

The Wolf Pack (22-6, 9-5 Mountain West) have better conference and overall records, but they don’t occupy a similarly secure spot as the Rams. They have home wins over San Diego State and Colorado State, as well as a road win over Utah State and a neutral-site win over TCU, but their wins and their non-conference resume lack the heft to be in a position of certainty.
Nevada won’t take a step back with a loss at Colorado State, but they can take a major leap forward with a win. That will be a tall ask, however, even though they have a winning record on the road in conference play.

Nevada vs Colorado State Prediction and Picks
Nevada vs Colorado State Betting Analysis and Prediction: Rams Will Prevail at Home
Following their losses to the Lobos and Rebels, Colorado State is now just 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS in conference play on the road.
Those struggles are why the Rams aren’t in contention for a much better seed, but they should be at their best at home tonight.
In conference play, Colorado State is 7-0 SU and 5-2 ATS at home, failing to cover against only Air Force (as a 15.5-point favorite in a 78-69 win) and UNLV (as a 7.5-point favorite in a 78-75 win).
In their home wins over the Mountain West’s other potential tournament teams, the Rams defeated New Mexico (76-68) and San Diego State (79-71) by eight, Boise State by 13 (75-62), and Utah State by 20 (75-55).
But will they dispose of Nevada in a similar fashion? The Wolf Pack are 4-3 SU and ATS on the road in conference play and have won their last three road games, and they defeated the Rams 77-64 in Reno last month. They are also 4-2 SU and ATS as an underdog this season, with all of those games and wins coming away from home.
So, Nevada’s chances of making things interesting can’t be dismissed.
However, the Rams are an outstanding bunch at home, and I don’t see them giving Nevada a sniff of an upset.
Nevada vs Colorado State Betting Picks
Colorado State team total over 74.5 points (-115 at Bovada) & Isaiah Stevens over 16.5 points (-112 at BetOnline)
As much confidence as I have in Colorado State, this is a sizable spread. I don’t love it enough to back the Rams to cover, but I do like them to hit the over on their team total.
CSU has scored 75+ points in all but one of their home games in conference play, with the lone miss a 66-47 win over San Jose State earlier this month.
If they score 75+ again tonight, Stevens (16.4 PPG, 7.4 APG, 3.0 RPG) should be among the top scorers. He is averaging 19.3 PPG in his last three games, and he has scored 17+ points in eight conference games, including four of their seven home games.
