NCAA Basketball Best Bets – January 15th, 2025
Lafayette vs Army Predictions
Best Bets: Army ML (-105) BetOnline
While I haven’t placed this bet quite yet, I will be dabbling on the Black Knights tonight. I am hoping this might tick over to plus money for the home team to win, but regardless, I think Army wins this game.
The Black Knights take very good care of the basketball, ranking 49th in TO Rate offensively. Defensively, they crash the glass, ranking 52nd in offensive rebounds allowed, while also being Top 20 in FT Rate defense at home. They play solid, sound defense, keep their hands to themselves, and go get a good shot on the other end of the floor.
As for Lafayette, they are 1-8 on the road this season and are 325th in overall offensive efficiency. They take care of the ball well at home, but struggle doing the same on the road, as they jump from 49th to 171st in turnover rate. Lafayette doesn’t rebound well, ranking 323rd in offensive rebounds, so I’m not worried about them getting any second chance points or cheap ones at the charity stripe.
Give me Army to win a tough game at home as slight underdogs.
Lehigh vs Boston Predictions
Best Bets: Lehigh/Boston Under 131.5 (-105) BetOnline
Under, under, under in Boston tonight. Lehigh simply sucks on offense. They don’t offensive rebound (360th), they rank 295th overall offensively, while also being 268th in eFG% and 297th in FT percentage. Lehigh takes care of the basketball, they play slow, but they don’t force very many turnovers on the defensive end, plus their defense has trouble performing as well as they do at home.
As for the Terriers, our hosts are SLOOOOOOOOW. They rank 351st (out of 364 teams) in possessions per game, they are terrible in the turnover battle on both sides of the ball and rank 326th in offensive efficiency. However, they are Top 12 in offensive rebounds allowed, Top 60 in FT Rate defense, and they don’t shoot very well themselves.
This is going to be a boring, sloppy basketball game that stays in the low 60s.
#23 Georgia vs #6 Tennessee Predictions

Samford vs Mercer Predictions
Best Bets: Samford -5.5 (-115) Bovada
I love backing this Samford team. Although they are just 8-7 ATS this season, they are coming off a cover against UNC Greensboro, and to be blunt, Mercer sucks.
Samford’s offense is fun to watch. They play very fast, shoot tons of threes, and make plenty of them as well. The Bulldogs are 48th overall in pace, 14th in 3P Rate and 16th in 3P%, shooting over 39% as a team. Ironically, all of those numbers get better away from home. They play faster, shoot more threes, and shoot closer to 40% from downtown. Mercer can’t keep up.
Defensively, Samford is Top 12 in turnovers forced, but they do give up some offensive rebounds and free throws. However, Mercer is stupid fast but not for their own good. They fail to crash the offensive glass, but defend it well. Mercer severely struggles to defend the perimeter, which could lead to plenty of Samford threes tonight. Overall Mercer ranks 281st in offensive efficiency, which will not be enough to take down the Bulldogs at home.
