With the regular season wrapping up for the Power 6 schools, some teams are still looking to make a push for a chance to go to the big dance, while others’ only chance at making it is through their conference tournament. Over in the Big East, the Hoyas head to New York for their final regular season game against the St. John’s Red Storm.

It was another uneventful season for the Hoyas, only recording two conference wins against DePaul twice. Some argue that is equivalent to going winless in conference. Meanwhile, the Red Storm are looking for their sixth straight win, hoping to end the regular season with a splash.
Like St. John’s, I’m looking to end the regular season on a high note. Let’s do it.

Georgetown vs St. John’s Prediction
The Stank:
Typically, this would be a letdown spot for St. John’s after their 27-point road victory over DePaul on Tuesday; however, they need a win to close out the regular season. This is still an excellent spot to take them.
Over the past month, the Red Storm have been a top 20 team, according to Bart Torvik. Top 35 in adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency, along with being one of the best rebounding teams in the country on both ends of the ball. They have been getting after their second chance opportunities while taking away their opponents’.

The Hoyas, on the other hand, have been horrendous. Since February 8th, they have had the fourth worst eFG% defense, the third worst in 2-pt% defense, and the 25th worst 2-pt% offense.
If St. John’s wants to end the regular season on a high note, they should easily coast to a double-digit victory against the second-worst team in the Big East. Show the committee how good you are, just like you did on Tuesday.

Where to find more advanced analytics
If you are looking for advanced analytic websites for college basketball Bart Torvik and Haslametrics are my favorite two. They are free and very informative. Ken Pom is another great resource, but sadly you have to pay.
Remember, these are mostly used as a crutch. Do not let these be the end all be all to making wagers. They are not always right with their predictions. Use your plums, trust your gut, and remember you cannot win them all. If you have any questions my socials are below I am always free to discuss anything college hoops.
