It is finally here: the Big East Conference Tournament, the best conference in the country. I have no bias, none at all. I am not a two-time DePaul alum or anything. I’m just a man who loves good old-fashioned man ball.
A conference where the top three teams can make it to the Final Four while the rest of the conference is pushing to make it to the NCAA Tournament. Who will come out on top? Will it be the obvious choice for the UConn Huskies, who are trying to be the first team since Florida to go back-to-back national champions? Or maybe a long shot like St. John’s, which has started to heat up in the final weeks of the regular season under legendary head coach Rick Pitino. Regardless, this should be one of the more exciting conference tournaments this season.

There is no reason to go chalky and take UConn in this tournament. The juice is not worth the squeeze. If you like the Huskies in this tournament, look ahead to the big dance or on a game-to-game basis. If you are looking for value in this tournament, take a peak at a team that has proven they can go toe-to-toe with the best of the best in the Big East.
The Creighton Bluejays have been one of the best teams in the country all season and have ended the regular season scorching hot. Since February 12, the Bluejays have been the third-best team, according to Bart Torvik. Offensively, they are fifth in adjusted offensive efficiency, second in eFG% offense, and second in 2-point percentage. Defensively, they are 19th in adjusted defensive efficiency. Along with being one of the most disciplined teams in the country, they had the third-best free-throw rate defense in the country during that span.
Due to an injury, Marquette’s two-time All-American guard, Tyler Kolek, may not play in this tournament. This leaves the door wide open for Creighton to have an opportunity to win the Big East Tournament. Even then, the Bluejays have the size to dominate Marquette on the boards. Due to their lack of size, the Golden Eagles struggle to get after rebounds.
RECAP: Before Saturday, Marquette was 0-2 since Tyler Kolek got his oblique injury.
Now, the Golden Eagles have a win, without their starting point guard, under their belt going into the Big East Tournament. #mubb

They are also the only team in the conference with the tangibles to compete with UConn. Sure, it can be argued that they had career nights shooting the basketball in their home win over UConn a few weeks back, but if they get hot, they are deadly.
