Alabama can wrap up the SEC regular season title and push archrival Auburn closer to the March Madness bubble tonight as they host the Tigers in Tuscaloosa (7:00 pm ET, ESPN2).
The #2 Crimson Tide (25-4, 15-1 SEC) can clinch the top seed in next week’s SEC Tournament with a win over the Tigers, while a loss would force a must-win finale at Texas A&M (22-8, 14-3 SEC).
Auburn (19-10, 9-7 SEC) could use the big road upset tonight, as they have lost seven of their last nine games. A win either tonight or at home against Tennessee will lock them into the NCAA Tournament, but if they lose both, they may enter the SEC Tournament in some real bubble trouble.
Who will take the win tonight in Tuscaloosa? Read on for our Auburn vs Alabama basketball prediction and picks.

Will the Prolific Tide Roll to Another Home Win?
Alabama’s last couple of games have been close, but they have been pretty dominant for the most part in SEC play.
Prior to last Wednesday’s two-point OT win at South Carolina and Saturday’s three-point home win over Arkansas, all but two of Bama’s SEC wins had come by double digits.
One was a 66-63 home win over Mississippi State on January 25, while the other was a 77-69 win at Auburn on February 11.
In SEC play, the Tide have a 11-5-0 ATS record, and no matter what happens in the last two games, they are certain to finish with a winning ATS record both at home and on the road. At home, they are 6-2-0 ATS, while they are 5-3-0 ATS on the road ahead of Saturday’s game at Texas A&M.
At one point, Auburn had an impressive ATS record, even as their downturn was starting. Through 10 games, they were 6-4-0 ATS, including a 4-1-0 mark on the road.
However, in their last six games, the Tigers have covered in only one, a 33-point home win over Missouri on Valentine’s Day. Also, after winning three of their first four road games in conference play, Auburn has dropped four in a row, the latest being a 32-point loss at Kentucky last Saturday.
Until the loss in Lexington, Auburn had done well with not getting blown out, as their previous four losses had been by a total of 18 points. But things went completely off the rails against Kentucky, who led by as many as 40 in the second half thanks to a 26-4 run.
Auburn vs Alabama Prediction and Picks
Tigers vs Crimson Tide Prediction: Alabama to win
Tigers vs Crismon Tide Pick: Alabama -9.5 (Best Value: BetOnline & BetMGM)
Texas A&M is 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS at home in SEC play, so leaving things up for grabs going into the game there would be less than ideal for Alabama.
I expect the Tide to bring their best tonight after a couple of close calls against the Gamecocks and Razorbacks, and the Tigers will be powerless to stop them.
Auburn is certainly a much better team than they showed at Kentucky and have shown in their recent run, but things could get really ugly again tonight if these recent results are indicative of where their confidence is at this point.
