See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe market has been bullish on High Point, but the love feels misplaced. Purdue is simply on another level offensively, and the Panthers have not faced anything close to this challenge. With Purdue’s firepower and High Point’s defensive struggles, the Boilermakers should have no trouble clearing their team total.

#13 High Point vs #4 Purdue Best Bet
High Point has been one of the more public underdogs in the tournament this week, and I do not understand the love. This line opened Sunday evening at 10.5 in favor of Purdue and has since dropped to 7.5. That is a significant shift for a team that has not played a top 100 opponent since December 6 and has not faced a team inside the top 150 since. Now, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, they are expected to compete with the 32nd-ranked team in the country, per Bart Torvik? I do not see it. However, I do love offense in this matchup—Purdue’s offense, to be exact. Their team total is set at 80.5, and I am all over that.
High Point enters the tournament having played an extremely weak schedule, and their defensive struggles are clear. Since February 1, they have the 192nd-ranked defense on the road, allowing 71.2 points per game in that span. They have consistently sent opponents to the free throw line, struggled to rebound, and failed to force turnovers.
Purdue, on the other hand, has maintained a top 10 offense away from home this season. The Boilermakers excel from both the inside and outside, protect the basketball, and rank inside the top 150 in free throw percentage. Since February 1, they have the seventh-best offense in the country, averaging 78 points per game during that stretch against teams ranked inside Bart Torvik’s top 75.
Purdue should cruise past 81 points. I would be shocked if they did not score more than 85 in this matchup, even with the slower tempos.
Best Bet: Purdue Team Total Over 80.5 (-125) on BetOnline
