Warriors vs Celtics NBA Predictions & Picks (11/6)
As mentioned before, it wouldn’t be surprising if spring arrives and it’s the Warriors and Celtics meeting in the NBA Finals. After all, Boston is currently BetOnline’s +260 favorite to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy while Golden State is available at +2000 (11th) and those odds will only continue to climb if Steve Kerr’s team maintains its hot start.
Presently, both sides have done a good job of building momentum before tonight’s festivities. The Warriors are on a four-game win streak following Monday’s 125-112 victory over the Washington Wizards. Stephen Curry scored a team-high 24 points while Buddy Hield helped the offensive charge with a 20-point performance off the bench.
As for the Celtics, they’re coming off a dominant 123-93 win against the Atlanta Hawks two nights ago, marking their third victory in a row. Jayson Tatum led the way with 28 points, 9 assists, and eight rebounds, playing a big role in Boston notching its seventh victory of the campaign.
Having said that, tonight marks the first of two Warriors-Celtics matchups of the regular season. Things haven’t gone in Boston’s favor lately as Golden State has won five of the last seven encounters between these inter-conference foes.
The Warriors are 5-2 SU in their last seven games against the Celtics. Will that trend continue tonight?
It won’t be surprising if tonight’s matchup is decided at the three-point line. Both teams are among the NBA’s best on the outside as the Celtics lead the league in threes made per game with the eighth-best success rate while the Warriors rank second and fourth in those categories, respectively.
Interestingly enough, these championship contenders have also done a good job of defending the three-point ball. The Warriors are holding opponents to 10.3 threes made per game (1st) on 28.3% shooting (2nd) while the Celtics are tied for allowing the seventh-fewest threes on a 32.9% success rate (6th).
The Celtics must also focus on stopping the Warriors’ bench, which is averaging an NBA-high 60.9 points per game. Boston’s bench is only averaging 31.3 PPG (19th), meaning head coach Joe Mazzulla must find a way to get his role players going when the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown aren’t on the floor.
The Warriors also have the rebounding edge in tonight’s matchup, averaging 47.8 rebounds per game compared to the Celtics’ rate of 42.8 RPG. In other words, if the home team isn’t careful with its shot selection, the visitors could make them pay.
Can the Celtics overcome the Warriors’ elite bench production?
I’m fully expecting a close-fought matchup at TD Garden tonight. The Warriors and Celtics both do a lot of things better than the majority of the NBA and that’s paying off early in the season. There’s a reason why this is likely the best basketball game on television tonight.
Having said that, I’m taking the Celtics to win. They aren’t showing any signs of an NBA Championship hangover and continue to blow out the competition left and right. The Warriors are also piling up wins, however, this game taking place at TD Garden gives the Celtics an edge, especially when you realize they’re on an eight-game win streak at home.
But even if I’m predicting a Boston win, I’m going with Golden State on the spread. I just have a hard time imagining the Celtics winning by three-plus possessions when both Jaylen Brown (hip) and Kristaps Porzingis (foot) are out of the lineup. Additionally, the Warriors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Celtics.
In other words, don’t be surprised if Golden State keeps things closer than expected.

Best Warriors vs Celtics NBA Player Prop (11/6)
If you’re looking for a promising Warriors vs. Celtics player prop, I suggest going with Al Horford o1.5 threes made (-130).
Even though he celebrated his 38th birthday earlier this year, Horford continues to be a threat from deep. The five-time NBA All-Star is averaging 1.9 threes made per game on 52.0% shooting and has finished with the Over on this prop in four of his first seven outings of the season. He now gets to take on the Warriors, who are allowing 3.6 three-pointers per game to centers and power forwards this year.
Horford has also had plenty of three-point success against Golden State. The Over is 5-1 in his last six meetings with the Warriors as he averaged 2.3 3PM with a 45.2 3P% during that stretch.
