Game 6 of the 2021-22 NBA Finals is scheduled for Thursday, June 16, giving the Golden State Warriors a chance to clinch the title as they currently own a 3-2 series lead over the Boston Celtics.
Major basketball games like this one always attract their fair share of bettors. However, sometimes fans are looking for something more exciting than traditional markets, which is why prop bets are always a popular choice.
Here are some of BetOnline Sportsbook’s top markets that you should consider before the Warriors and Celtics collide in Game 6 of the Finals.
Best Warriors vs. Celtics NBA Finals Game 6 Prop Bets
The NBA props listed below are from BetOnline Sportsbook.
1. Andrew Wiggins Under 17.5 Points (+102)
After Stephen Curry had been leading the Warriors to victory in Games 2 and 4, Andrew Wiggins stepped up with his own heroics in Game 5.
The 27-year-old veteran wing led all Golden State players with 26 points on a 52.2% field-goal percentage. Although that’s more than enough points to hit the total on this prop, fans should temper expectations.
First of all, Wiggins is averaging 16.4 PPG in the 2021-22 playoffs, which already puts him at the under. It also doesn’t help that he’s finished with the under 13 times in 21 postseason contests thus far.
The Celtics also have a great defense that will likely step up now that they were embarrassed by Wiggins the other night. They likely weren’t expecting that sort of performance from him, which is why they’ll likely do a better effort to contain him.
Although Wiggins has been one of the Warriors’ best players, it wouldn’t be surprising if he finished slightly under the mark.
2. Klay Thompson Under 3.5 Rebounds (-134)
Although Klay Thompson is one of the better shooters that the NBA has seen, he’s never been the best rebounder, proven by his career average of 3.5.
After averaging 4.6 boards in the first 14 games of the playoffs, Thompson is averaging just 2.3 rebounds over his last seven games. Regardless of how you cut it, a 50% drop-off is pretty significant.
That’s only one reason why I think bettors should take the over on this prop. Another reason is that Thompson has finished with the under in each of those aforementioned last seven games.
Regardless of how many minutes he plays, it doesn’t make much of a difference to his rebounding numbers. Even if he plays 39-plus minutes for the fourth straight game, expect Thompson to finish with the under here.
3. Jayson Tatum Over 3.5 Threes Made (-128)
Along with Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum has been one of the Celtics’ best players this postseason. He’s been averaging a solid 26.2 PPG so far and a big part of that has been his ability to hit his three-point shots.
He’s become more efficient at it compared to the regular season, going from 3.0 threes made on 35.3% shooting to 3.3 three-pointers on a 39.6% conversion rate. It’s not a huge difference, but it’s still a notable one, nonetheless.
Tatum hit five threes in Game 5, which would have him hit the over on this prop. For some players, that’s a tough task to accomplish, but not for the 24-year-old, who’s gotten even better from range lately.
Tatum is averaging 3.9 threes over his last seven games, finishing with the over in five of those contests — including in three of the last four NBA Finals contests.
Despite Boston’s occasional offensive struggles, Tatum has managed to consistently hit his three-point attempts and I don’t see that changing in Game 6 on Thursday.
4. Al Horford Under 13.5 Points + Assists (-128)
There was a point in the 2021-22 NBA Playoffs that Al Horford looked like one of the best players on the floor more often than not. Unfortunately, he couldn’t maintain that play and is no longer showing the offensive consistency that he was before.
Keeping that in mind, I’m taking Horford to finish with the under on this combo prop. For starters, he’s averaging 9.5 points and 3.5 assists over his last 13 games, which actually combines for an average of 13.0 — the under.
On top of that, the 36-year-old big man has finished with 13 or fewer points and assists in nine of those last 13 games. Furthermore, it’s something that he’s accomplished three times in the last four Finals matchups.
While Horford has been an integral part in getting the Celtics to where they are, it’s much easier to trust him with the under based on his recent play.
