Timberwolves vs Warriors NBA Predictions & Picks (12/6)
It’s the first Timberwolves vs. Warriors clash of the 2024-25 NBA campaign and oddsmakers are predicting a showdown that could go either way.
The Timberwolves have momentum on their side following Wednesday’s dominant 108-80 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. The effort marked Minnesota’s third straight win and what’s even more impressive is that each of its last three opponents only averaged 84.0 points per game, held to 92 or fewer each time.
We’ll see if the Timberwolves’ impressive defensive play continues against the Warriors, who are coming off last night’s 99-93 win against the Houston Rockets. The victory snapped Golden State’s five-game losing streak as Jonathan Kuminga led the charge with 33 points and seven rebounds.
It’s been nearly two weeks since the Warriors last won consecutive games, so we’ll see if that changes this evening. They’re 11-8 SU in the second half of back-to-back games since the start of the 2023-24 season, whereas the Timberwolves are 25-6 SU with the rest advantage during that stretch.
The Timberwolves tend to thrive when they get more rest than their opponents.
When it comes to the history between these teams, the Warriors are a convincing 12-3 SU in their last 15 home games against the Timberwolves. Having said that, Minnesota has won five of the last six matchups against Golden State — including the last four in a row — regardless of location.
With the way the Timberwolves have been playing on defense lately, I don’t anticipate that the Warriors will get much going in terms of scoring. After all, Steve Kerr’s squad is only averaging 105.7 points on .419/.341/.701 splits across the last six games. It’s going to be tough to score against a Minnesota team that currently ranks sixth in defensive efficiency this season.
Winning will be even tougher for the Warriors if they’re without Stephen Curry (injury management) and Draymond Green (calf), who are both questionable to play as of Friday morning.
As for the Timberwolves, they won’t be shorthanded outside of Joe Ingles (calf) and Rob Dillingham’s (ankle) absences.
The Warriors could run into some issues if Draymond Green (calf) can’t play tonight.
In what should be a close-fought clash, I’m predicting a Timberwolves road win. Although the Warriors are coming off a win and have the home-court advantage, they’ve still done a lot more losing than winning lately. The Timberwolves have also dominated the Warriors in their recent meetings, including three straight wins at Chase Center.
With that in mind, backing the Timberwolves on the spread is the way to go.

Best Timberwolves vs Warriors NBA Player Prop (12/6)
For tonight’s best Timberwolves vs. Warriors NBA player prop bet, I’m taking Rudy Gobert o11.5 rebounds (-110) as the top option.
Gobert has been extremely consistent when it comes to this prop this season. The four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year is averaging 11.8 rebounds in his last 13 games, finishing with the Over eight times during that stretch. The Over is also 3-1 in Gobert’s last four road games and now he gets to face the Warriors, who are giving up the second-most rebounds to centers this season.
That’s without mentioning how he’s also averaging 13.3 RPG in his last four meetings with Golden State, finishing with at least a dozen rebounds three times.
With the Warriors allowing the third-most rebounds at home this season, look for Gobert to make his presence felt.
Best Timberwolves vs. Warriors Player Prop: Rudy Gobert o11.5 Rebounds (-110)
