The Phoenix Suns (28-20) and Atlanta Hawks (20-27) each look for their third consecutive win when they collide at State Farm Arena in one of 10 NBA games scheduled for Friday, Feb. 2.
An @emoryhealthcare injury report for tomorrow’s game vs. Phoenix:
De’Andre Hunter (right knee injury management): Questionable
Mouhamed Gueye (right low back stress fracture): Out
Vit Krejci (left shoulder subluxation): Out pic.twitter.com/k87nLeuQq9— Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) February 1, 2024
The Suns were most recently in Brooklyn on Wednesday, notching a huge 136-120 victory over the Nets. Meanwhile, the Hawks head into tonight’s game after Trae Young’s 26-point, 13-assist double-double led them to a 138-122 win against the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this week.
When it comes to this year’s 2023-24 NBA Finals odds, these team’s odds couldn’t be more different. While Phoenix currently holds the fifth-best odds (+1400) to go on a title run, Atlanta sits 19th at +30000, per Bovada’s futures markets.
So, who’s winning ways will stay alive tonight? Let’s dive into my Suns vs. Hawks betting preview to talk about it.

Suns vs Hawks Prediction & Pick (2/2): Whose Winning Streak Continues?
Tonight’s game marks the penultimate contest of the Suns’ seven-game road trip. Although there were hiccups in the second and third games, Phoenix has since responded with back-to-back wins over the Nets and Miami Heat, leaving time to tell if the positive trend continues tonight.
Having said that, the Hawks have also picked up two straight victories over the Lakers and Toronto Raptors as they continue their six-game homestand. Time will tell if a third home win is in store. Atlanta has struggled at home this season, going 10-13 SU (5-18 ATS) in 23 outings at State Farm Arena thus far.
The Suns, on the other hand, have seen plenty of success in away scenarios. Their 60.9% winning percentage on the road (14-9 SU) ranks fifth-best in the NBA. In fact, they’ve even won six of their last eight road games by an average margin of 9.8 PPG.
For comparison, the Hawks are 4-4 SU with a minus-5.4 margin in their last eight home games.
Kevin Durant and the Suns have produced some strong road performances as of late.
Although the Hawks average the third-most points in the NBA, they’re far from the most efficient time. They rank 23rd and 18th in field-goal and three-point percentages. On the other hand, the Suns put up the 12th-most points while being a top-10 team when it comes to FG% (4th) and 3P% (7th).
Neither side has been flawless on defense this season, but it’s clear that Phoenix has the edge in this department. The Suns surrender 114.4 PPG (15th) on a 46.7 FG% (10th) and 37.1 3P% (18th) while the Hawks’ opponents average 123.3 PPG (29th) while shooting 50.3% from the floor (29th) and 38.8% from three-point range (28th).
The odds being on the visitors’ side doesn’t do the Hawks any favors, either. After all, Atlanta is 1-5 SU and 1-5 ATS as the home underdog this season. On the flip side, Phoenix is 10-4 SU and 6-7-1 ATS as the road favorite.
The Hawks have struggled as home underdogs throughout the 2023-24 NBA season.
In a game where both sides have decent momentum, I’m backing the Suns. They’re the better team and have enough talent to exploit a Suns defense that is among the worst in the Association. As long as the likes of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal don’t underestimate Atlanta, this game is Phoenix’s to lose.
With that in mind, let’s take the Suns to cover the spread, too. Again, the Hawks have only covered once in six games as the home underdog while also being 4-16 ATS in their last 20 outings at State Farm Arena. After the Suns just beat the Nets by 16 points two nights ago, covering the 3.5-point spread shouldn’t be an issue.

Best Suns vs Hawks NBA Prop Bet (2/2)
With the Hawks owning one of the worst perimeter defenses in the NBA, taking Grayson Allen to hit over 2.5 three-pointers is easily my favorite Suns vs. Hawks player prop.
After missing the game against the Nets, Allen (ankle) is probable to play tonight. The 28-year-old sharpshooter is averaging 2.7 threes made with a league-high 49.8 3P%. He’s also finished with the Over on this prop in six of his last eight full-length games, averaging 3.5 3PM with a 65.1% success rate.
Considering how the Hawks are allowing the fifth-most three-pointers to shooting guards this season, smashing the Over on this prop is a no-brainer.
