It’s a jam-packed day around the NBA with all 30 teams scheduled to play on Friday, April 12. The Phoenix Suns’ (47-33) road trip continues when they visit Golden 1 Center to take on the slumping Sacramento Kings (45-35) at 10:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
FINAL: Kings fall to Pelicans 135-123.
👑 De'Aaron Fox: 33 PTS, 8 AST, 5 REB
👑 Harrison Barnes: 22 PTS, 5 REB, 4 AST
👑 Domantas Sabonis: 18 PTS, 10 REB, 4 AST— Sacramento Kings (@SacramentoKings) April 12, 2024
The Suns are coming off Wednesday’s 124-108 win over the LA Clippers that saw Devin Booker drop a team-high 37 points with five threes made. Meanwhile, the Kings picked up a 135-123 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans last night, marking the sixth loss in their last nine games.
Playoff positioning isn’t the only thing riding on the line tonight as there are plenty of betting opportunities you won’t want to miss.
Let’s explore some of them by diving into my Suns vs. Kings NBA predictions and best bets.

Suns vs Kings Predictions & NBA Picks Today (4/12): Phoenix Finds Road Success
Tonight’s game is riddled with playoff implications. The Suns currently occupy the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference with two games to go, however, they can surpass the New Orleans Pelicans for No. 6 if they win out. Meanwhile, the Kings are in a three-way tie with the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers for the No. 8 seed.
If Sacramento wants to improve its Play-In Tournament positioning, it must play better than it did last night. The Kings didn’t lead for a second against the Pelicans, trailing by as many as 23 points as they allowed the latter to score 135 points on .570/.550/.833 splits.
The biggest reason why Sacramento lost last night was that it allowed New Orleans to go 22-for-40 from the three-point line. Unfortunately, that isn’t anything new for the Kings, who rank 21st in three-pointers allowed and 29th in opposing three-point percentage during their last nine games.
The Kings can’t afford to give the same opportunities to the Suns because they’ll make them play. Not only does Phoenix boast the seventh-best three-point percentage in the NBA, but it’s also the sixth-most accurate team from deep on the road.
The Suns have more than enough talent to make the Kings pay from the three-point line.
As far as the 2023-24 season series goes, the Kings and Suns evenly split the first four matchups. While Sacramento won the first pair of encounters, it’s been Phoenix that has won the last two, most recently notching a 130-125 win at Footprint Center on Feb. 13.
Even though it’s the Kings who have the home-court advantage tonight, it might not provide much of a difference. After all, the Suns are a solid 4-2 SU on their last six trips to Golden 1 Center, even covering the spread three times.
A lack of rest could also affect the host team this evening. The Kings are only 6-8 SU with a minus-5.8 average scoring margin when playing without rest this season. On the flip side, the Suns are 26-21 with a plus-2.6 margin with exactly one day of rest.
Injuries could also factor into Sacramento’s outlook. Kevin Huerter (shoulder) and Malik Monk (knee) are still out of the lineup while Jordan Ford (hip) and JaVale McGee’s (illness) status is up in the air after the duo missed last night’s game.
Meanwhile, Damion Lee (knee) is the Suns’ sole absentee.
The Kings need their top players like De’Aaron Fox to step up as they continue to battle with injuries.
Based on how both sides have been performing, it’s a no-brainer to back the Suns. The Kings are struggling to beat good teams lately and I don’t see that changing after they were hammered by the Pelicans last night. Phoenix has also beaten Sacramento in back-to-back outings, meaning a third win in a row isn’t unfathomable.
And even though the Under has been hitting for both teams lately, I’m taking the Over on the 224-point total. After all, each of the last three Suns-Kings tilts surpassed that number, averaging 238.7 PPG.
Throw in the fact that the Over is 22-17 at Golden 1 Center this season and 5-2 in Phoenix’s last seven road games, and it’s easy to like this betting pick.

Best Suns vs Kings NBA Prop Bet (4/12)
After the Kings surrendered 135 points to the Pelicans last night, how can I not go with Kevin Durant o24.5 total points this evening?
Even though Durant has gone four consecutive outings without hitting the Over, that trend will end tonight. The 14-time NBA All-Star tends to feast against the Kings, averaging 30.4 points while shooting 54.1% from the floor and 45.6% from deep in his last 10 meetings with them. Oh yeah, that’s without mentioning that he finished with 25-plus points in each of those games.
With the Over also being 5-1 in his last six road games, don’t hesitate — smash this Durant prop immediately.
