See Picks & Statistics For The GameTuesday’s in November are for the NBA In-Season Tournament, meaning another slate of group stage matchups is upon us. One of tonight’s tilts that basketball enthusiasts must keep an eye on is the clash between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Both sides are winless to open the inaugural tournament. The Spurs opened the event with a 117-110 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Meanwhile, a 105-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings last week saw the Thunder fall to 0-2 in the group stage.
The Spurs and Thunder are relatively long shots to win the NBA In-Season Tournament Cup. Bovada is giving Oklahoma City +3500 odds (T-No. 13) to win the event while San Antonio is further back at +6000 (T-No. 19).
Without wasting more time, let’s dive into this betting preview, which features a Spurs vs Thunder prediction, the latest NBA odds, and the best bet to make tonight.

Spurs vs Thunder Prediction & Pick (Nov. 14)
Life hasn’t been kind to the Spurs as of late. After a promising 3-2 start to the 2023-24 campaign, Gregg Popovich’s team heads into tonight’s showing riding a five-game losing streak.
Defense has been hard to come by for the Spurs, who are allowing 127.2 PPG with a minus-16.2 average scoring margin during their skid. In fact, San Antonio ranks dead last in the NBA when it comes to points, field-goal percentage, and three-point percentage allowed.
Unfortunately for the Spurs, the Thunder have one of the best offenses this season. They average 115.9 PPG (T-No. 7), which jumps up to 119.7 PPG at home. On top of that, OKC ranks seventh-best when it comes to offensive efficiency, meaning the home team is more than capable of punishing the visitors if their defense is lacking again.
Do the Spurs even have the tools to stop Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? The Canadian guard is off to a terrific start, averaging 29.4 PTS/7.0 REB/6.0 AST with 60.9% true shooting. That’s without mentioning how he’s scored 30-plus points in each of his last four games.
The likes of Chet Holmgren, Lu Dort, and Jalen Williams have also been key pieces to OKC’s early offensive success, so it isn’t like San Antonio only has one player to worry about.
Speaking of just one player, Victor Wembanyama’s current slump will make it tougher for the Spurs to win. The 2023 first-overall pick has slowed down recently, shooting the ball 36.4% or worse from the field in three of his last four games, finishing with 18 or fewer points in each instance.
Little about the Spurs’ recent play suggests they can win tonight. The Thunder are dangerous once they get rolling, which could be the case tonight due to their opponent’s lackluster defense. I fully expect SGA to keep the momentum going with another strong performance.
I also have the Thunder cover the 10-point spread. The Spurs are getting blown out left and right, leading to a 1-4 ATS record in their last five games. They’re also 0-4-1 ATS in their last five encounters with the Thunder, who’ve covered in four of six home outings so far this season.
Spurs vs Thunder Prediction: OKC wins
Best Bet: OKC -10 (-105 on Bovada)
Spurs vs Thunder Best Player Prop
While scoring more than 31.5 points is tough for some players, it’s another day in the office for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
The 25-year-old veteran has made good on this prop five times in nine outings so far this season. That includes hitting the Over in each of his last three games, averaging 37.0 PPG during that span. He also finished with 32-plus points in three of his last six meetings with the Spurs.
Considering how San Antonio allows the fourth-most points to shooting guards in 2023-24, look for SGA to steal the show again.
Bet: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander o31.5 Points (+100 on Bovada)
