Spurs vs Pacers NBA Paris Predictions & Picks (1/23)

If you’ve been following the NBA, you know it isn’t a secret how both these teams have recently been heading in opposite directions.

The struggling Spurs have made their way to Paris following Sunday’s 128-107 loss to the Miami Heat. Not only did that defeat mark San Antonio’s third consecutive loss, but it also dropped its record to 1-6 SU in the last seven outings. Scoring consistently has been the team’s biggest issue during that stretch, averaging just 112.3 PPG on .446/.343/.772 splits with a minus-10.0 average scoring margin.

As for the Pacers, they’re a dominant 15-5 SU in their last 20 games following an abysmal 9-14 start to the 2024-25 campaign. Their latest outing ended in a 115-102 home win over the Philadelphia 76ers, which was Pascal Siakam scoring a team-high 21 points while collecting eight rebounds.

It was just the latest example of the Pacers’ impressive defensive capabilities. They’ve now held their last nine opponents to 105.9 PPG while shooting 45.4% from the floor and 31.5% from deep along the way. That could be bad news for a Spurs team that is struggling to put the ball in the hoop.

According to some NBA betting trends, the Spurs are only 8-18 SU/12-14 ATS as underdogs this season. For comparison, the Pacers are 14-9 SU/11-11-1 ATS when the odds are in their favor, much as they are tonight.

The Pacers simply know how to get the job done when they’re favored.

When it comes to the injury report, both sides have some nicked-up names. Jeremy Schoen (back) potentially won’t suit up today due to a back injury, however, it’s worth noting that he’s the Spurs’ only injury designation.

As for the Pacers, their lineup remains changed outside of James Wiseman and Isaiah Jackson’s matching season-ending Achilles tears.

After doing some thinking, I’m taking the Pacers to win outright this afternoon.

The Spurs are in an unignorable slump and I don’t see that ending today, especially based on their recent performances. Indiana’s terrific defensive play also makes it unlikely that San Antonio will snap out of its offensive funk, meaning things could get out of hand early on.

After the Spurs covered the spread just once in their seven previous outings, I expect the Pacers to win by a decent margin.

Best Spurs vs Pacers NBA Player Prop Bet (1/23)

Going with Pascal Siakam o20.5 total points (-110 on Boavada) as best Spurs vs. Pacers player prop bet is an absolute no-brainer move today.

In his last six games, Siakam is 23.2 points while shooting 55.9% from the field and 27.3% from three-point distance, finishing with the Over on all but one of those occasions. Although it’s a small sample size, the 30-year-old veteran has also finished with 21-plus points in three of his last four outings, averaging a solid 21.0 PPG.
