The Oklahoma City Thunder (40-17) will put their five-game winning streak on the line when the Houston Rockets (25-32) come to town at 10 p.m. ET in one of 11 NBA games scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27.

These two teams just faced off two nights ago at Toyota Center and things didn’t go in the Rockets’ favor. The Thunder left Houston with a 123-110 victory on Sunday as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren combined for 65 points while shooting 24-for-39 (61.5%) from the field.
When it comes to potentially going on a championship run, one team’s odds are much better than the other. While Bovada lists Oklahoma City at +1800 odds (T-6th) to win the 2023-24 NBA Finals, Houston is much further down the list at +75000 (T-21st).
With plenty of betting opportunities to explore tonight, let’s take a look at my Rockets vs. Thunder preview and best bets.

Rockets vs Thunder Prediction & NBA Picks Today (2/27): Will OKC’s Streak Continue?
The Thunder are one of the hottest teams in the NBA at the moment, winning eight of their last 10 games as well as the last five in a row. They’ve dominated the competition throughout their five-game winning streak, averaging 130.6 points with a 54.2% field-goal percentage and 47.3% three-point success rate. That’s without mentioning how they outscored those foes by an average of 20.8 PPG.
Although the Rockets have had bright spots here and there throughout the year, it’s been more bad than good lately. Ime Udoka’s team has dropped seven of its last nine games heading into tonight’s contest. They’re 0-6 SU when it comes to road games during that span, getting outscored by an average of 11.0 points.
The truth is that playing on the road has been tough for Houston throughout the 2023-24 campaign. Not only do the Rockets own the second-worst winning percentage on the road this season (18.5%), but they also have an NBA-worst 34.6% success rate when it comes to covering the spread as the visitor.
On the flip side, the Thunder have won 79.3% of their home games (T-3rd) so far while covering the spread 69.0% of the time (1st).
The Rockets consistently struggle when playing on the road this season.
After beating the Rockets by 13 points only two nights ago, I’m taking the Thunder to pick up another victory tonight. Oklahoma City is one of the best teams in the league and a legitimate contender, whereas Houston has only won five times on the road all season. There just isn’t a good reason to believe that the Rockets can pull off the victory at Paycom Center.
Let’s also take Oklahoma City to cover the 10-point spread. For starters, the Rockets have struggled to cover the spread, going 2-5 ATS in their last seven games while also boasting the worst ATS success rate on the road. Secondly, the Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last five outings as well as 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings with a Southwest Division team.
Having also covered in 10 of their last 12 home games against the Rockets, it’s hard not to imagine the Thunder blowing out the competition tonight.

Best Rockets vs Thunder NBA Prop Bet (2/27)
It’d be silly if I didn’t take the Over on Chet Holmgren’s 16.5-point total as the best Rockets vs. Thunder player prop tonight.
Chet Holmgren is the first rookie and 4th player in NBA history with 150 BLK and 100 3PT in a season.
Raef LaFrentz, Brook Lopez & JJJ are the other 3 players.

Holmgren has been great throughout the 2023-24 NBA season but has really elevated his game lately. He’s averaging 19.4 points on .604/.488/.783 splits across his last eight games, finishing with 17-plus points five times — including in each of the last three games. That includes when he dropped 29 points against Houston on Sunday.
With the Rockets also surrendering the 8th-most points to center this season, you can’t go wrong siding with this Holmgren prop tonight.
Best Rockets vs Thunder Prop Bet: Chet Holmgren o16.5 Total Points (-105)
