Raptors Exhausted but Improving
It has been a long last week for the Raps.
This will be their 5th game in 7 days, and are playing this one back-to-back, after taking the Knicks down in overtime yesterday, 123-121.
The Raptors are currently sitting 12th in the East but are looking to make a push now that they have their starting line up back healthy after a tough start to the season.
Fred Van Vleet is back in the lineup and had a great game yesterday in Madison Square Garden, dropping 33 points to lead the Raptors. More on him later 😉
But the star of the show all season has been Pascal Siakam, who is making a firm case to be an All-Star.
Siakam is averaging 26 PPG, 8 RPG and almost 7 APG while shooting 47% from the field and 78% from the Free Throw line.
If Van Vleet can stay healthy and produce to help Siakam, along with Scottie Barnes picking up his play as well, the Raptors can make a run and sneak into the back half of the playoff field in the East.
A win tonight in Milwaukee would help continue that momentum, but Giannis has other ideas. If he suits up…
Giannis to Sit again?
All eyes will be on the injury report throughout the day today as it has not been confirmed whether or not the Superstar will play tonight or if the Bucks will rest him yet again for injury management on his knee.
As of this writing, Giannis is listed as a Game Time Decision and based on how it has gone the last few games, I think it truly will be.
Giannis was involved in a shoot around before the game yesterday against the Pacers but the Bucks medical staff decided to give him the night off to further rest his ailing knee.
Whether Giannis plays or not will obviously affect how this game goes but the Bucks feel good about their chances either way.
Point Guard Jrue Holiday was awesome yesterday against the Pacers, dropping 35 points and 11 dimes.
Bobby Portis was also great, adding 21 points and 11 boards to the fold as well, in the Bucks 132-119 win.
With or without Giannis tonight, the Bucks will be looking to lock up another Eastern conference home win, and keep pace at the top of the conference with the Celtics and Nets.
Prediction
The line here is telling me that the books think that Giannis is going to play tonight.
They are the overall better team at home, so the 4.5 points does make sense but I think this number will increase if Giannis gets confirmed closer to tip off.
The Bucks edged the Raptors earlier this month in overtime, and Giannis was massive in that game, with a 30 point Triple Double.
The Raptors being on the back end of this busy stretch of games makes me like the Bucks here to get the job done at home, Greek Freak or Not.
Best Bet
Bucks -4.5 (-110)
Player Prop of the Game
Fred Van Vleet o23.5 Points+Assists (-125)
As I mentioned above, Freddy has been playing great over the past 2 weeks and he loves playing the Bucks.
In his last 5 matchups against Milwaukee, he has over 24 points and assists in all 5 and 25+ points in 2 of those 5.
He also has hit 3+ 3 pointers in those last 5 games as well.
He just dropped 33 yesterday against the Knicks and he is going to have to produce again tonight to keep the Raptors around.
Love the value and the recent success for Van Vleet in this matchup.
