The Pelicans are on the hunt for a third win in a row after beating the Portland Trail Blazers, 110-100, on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Kings could use a boost after losing three of their last four outings, most recently falling 112-105 to the Oklahoma City Thunder two nights ago.

Pelicans vs Kings Predictions & NBA Picks Today (4/11):

Tonight’s matchup is an important one when it comes to playoff positioning. Only two games separate these teams as the Kings currently occupy the Western Conference’s No. 6 seed while the Kings sit at No. 8, the second Play-In Tournament spot.

Having said that, these teams have already met four times this season for a series that’s been one-sided. The Pelicans are a perfect 4-0 SU against the Kings this season, holding the latter to a 105.5 PPG clip while outscoring them by an average of 21.0 points. In fact, New Orleans beat Sacramento by 33 when they last collided at Golden 1 Center on Jan. 7.

There’s a good chance that trend will continue given the Kings’ current trajectory. Sacramento is an uninspiring 3-5 SU across its last eight games with two of those wins coming against teams that were eliminated from playoff contention. The Kings did defeat the LA Clippers for the third victory, however, the Clippers were without Kawhi Leonard that night.

It doesn’t help that the Kings dropped seven of their 10 previous April matchups and have failed to cover the spread in seven straight games vs. the Southwest Division.

The Kings haven’t exactly been playing their best basketball lately.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans look like they’re back on track following back-to-back wins over the Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns on the road. Although some teams struggle away from home, that isn’t the case for a New Orleans squad that has won eight of its last nine road games.

Additionally, the Pelicans have won four of their last six trips to Golden 1 Center, winning the last two by a plus-21.5 average scoring margin. Additionally, Sacramento covered the spread in each of those victories.

With that being said, I’m taking the underdogs to win tonight. The Pelicans beat the Kings by 33 points in Sacramento just a couple of months ago while also defeating them by 10-plus points three times this season. I just don’t see a world where the Kings break the curse — especially if you go off their recent performances.

With oddsmakers projecting tonight’s affair to be a close one, the best value is to back the Pelicans on the moneyline.

What’s impressive is that 10 of those performances occurred in his last 13 games alone as he averages 4.5 threes made on 44.6% shooting during that stretch. That’s without mentioning how he sunk a trio of three-pointers when he last faced Sacramento in January.

With the Kings’ last eight opponents averaging 13.3 3PM with a 38.7% success rate, I feel confident about McCollum continuing his hot streak.
