Wednesday, Dec. 13’s NBA schedule features the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks colliding for the second time in less than one week in an 8 p.m. ET clash.
The Pacers return to action following Monday’s 131-123 win over the Detroit Pistons, highlighted by Bennedict Mathurin’s game-high 30-point effort. Meanwhile, the Bucks have their sights set on a fourth win in five games after notching a 133-129 overtime win against the Chicago Bulls earlier this week.
When it comes to BetOnline’s 2023-24 NBA Finals odds, the Bucks have the third-best odds at +475 while the Pacers sit much further back at +8000 (17th).

Pacers vs Bucks Prediction & Pick (Dec. 13)
The 2023-24 campaign has already featured two matchups between these teams and both featured the same outcome.
The Pacers first notched a 126-124 home win over the Bucks on Nov. 9 despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 54-point effort. The teams then collided again during the NBA In-Season Tournament semifinals, resulting in a 128-119 victory for Indiana that sent Milwaukee packing.
Back-to-back losses can be demoralizing, but the Bucks are still 15-4 SU in their last 19 meetings with the Pacers. Furthermore, Milwaukee has also won nine of the last 11 meetings between the teams at Fiserv Forum.
The good news for the Bucks is that they’ve been near-flawless at home thus far, going 11-2 SU through 13 games in Milwaukee. When it comes to home stats, they rank highly when it comes to scoring (6th), offensive efficiency (8th), field-goal percentage (5th), threes made (5th), and three-point percentage (8th).
But as well as the Bucks have performed in their opponent’s end at home, it’s going to take a big effort to go toe-to-toe with the Pacers. After all, Indiana has the No. 1 offense in the NBA, averaging 127.6 PPG on .504 (1st)/.376 (9th)/.796 (9th) shooting splits.
The Pacers’ offensive success stems from a well-balanced attack. They have eight different players averaging double-digit point totals with Tyrese Haliburton leading the way with a 26.3 PPG clip. The 23-year-old phenom also has the sixth-best NBA MVP odds (+1200) over on BetOnline.
While the Bucks feature big-name players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, Bobby Portis is the only player averaging double-digit points (11.3) outside of the starting five.
Another thing that’s working against the Bucks is their underwhelming defensive play. After allowing 113.3 PPG in 2022-23 (14th), they’re surrendering 119.2 PPG this season — good for seventh-worst in the NBA. Indiana allows the second-most points, but it’s played better defense than Milwaukee in their two previous meetings.
The Pacers have proven themselves to be true threats, but I’m going with the Bucks winning tonight. Milwaukee has been great at Fiserv Forum this season and even though its last home game against Indiana resulted in a loss, Adrian Griffin’s team needs the win to prove that they won’t be pushed around by the Pacers this year.
With that in mind, I’m still taking Indiana at +6.5 on the spread. On top of already beating the Bucks twice this season, the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games, improving their ATS record to 7-1 in their eight most recent December games. Meanwhile, Milwaukee is just 4-9 ATS at Fiserv Forum this year.
Whether or not there’s an upset, expect this game to be closer than the odds imply.
Pacers vs Bucks Prediction: MIL wins
Best Pacers vs Bucks Bet: IND +6.5 (-110 on BetOnline)
Best Pacers vs Bucks NBA Player Prop
After sifting through the Pacers vs. Bucks player props on BetOnline, I’m taking Tyrese Haliburton to finish with over 3.5 threes made.
Haliburton has been money from the perimeter, averaging career highs in both threes made (3.9) and three-point percentage (44.3%). He’s made good on this prop eight times in his last 15 games and is averaging 4.9 threes in his eight most recent outings.
The good news for Haliburton is that the Bucks allow the 11th-most threes at home on the 13th-highest success rate. With the game projected to be a shootout, don’t be surprised when the NBA MVP candidate thrives from deep once again.
Best Pacers vs Bucks Prop: Tyrese Haliburton o3.5 Threes Made (-135 on BetOnline)
