Game 2 was another one-sided affair as the Timberwolves notched a 106-80 win over the Nuggets. Denver had no answer for Minnesota as Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards each racked up 27 points while Naz Reid and Nickeil Alexander-Walker combined for 28 points off the bench.
Can Minnesota put the defending champs in an even bigger hole? Or will Denver finally show some signs of life with a win?
Let’s answer those questions while discussing some of the best NBA bets by diving into my Nuggets vs. Timberwolves predictions and picks.

Nuggets vs Timberwolves Game 3 Predictions & NBA Picks Today (5/10)
When this series began, people would’ve laughed if you told them that the Nuggets would be down 2-0 after the first two games. Nevertheless, here we are and the Timberwolves have the opportunity to take a 3-0 lead with a win on Friday.
Scoring has been the Nuggets’ main issue since this series began. They’ve been held to just 89.5 points per game thus far while shooting 40.5% from the floor and 36.1% from the three-point line. Denver’s best two players — Jamal Murray and newly-crowned MVP Nikola Jokic — have struggled to shoot the ball, averaging .281/.250/1.000 and .421/.200/1.000 shooting splits, respectively.
And even though the Nugget shave held the T-wolves to a 106.0 PPG clip, they’ve had no answers for Anthony Edwards. The budding superstar has been near-unstoppable, averaging 35.0 PPG while shooting 60.9% from the floor.
That’s without mentioning how Karl-Anthony Towns is also averaging 23.5 PPG with a 64.3 FG% and 55.6 3P%.
Nikola Jokic, the 2023-24 NBA MVP, must find a way to elevate his game if the Nuggets are to get back into this series.
While playing on the road is never easy, especially against a team like the Timberwolves, the Nuggets are a solid 10-4 SU across their last 14 road games.
On the flip side, the Timberwolves own a 6-1 SU record across their last seven home outings, outscoring those opponents by an average of 12.1 PPG. And not only is Minnesota 5-2 SU in its last seven home games against Denver but it also covered the spread in six of those meetings.
The Timberwolves will likely have a boost in the form of Rudy Gobert, who was named the 2023-24 Defensive Player of the Year earlier this week. Gobert previously sat out of Game 3 due to his wife giving birth to their first child. Meanwhile, Monte Morris is questionable with a finger injury.
As for the Nuggets, Reggie Jackson is their only designation. The veteran guard exited Game 2 with an ankle injury, meaning he’ll likely be a game-time decision on Friday.
The Timberwolves will likely have 2023-24 DPOY Rudy Gobert back in the lineup for Game 3.
As much as I can’t imagine the Nuggets being swept, I’m taking the Timberwolves to win again. Minnesota has done a fantastic job at silencing Denver’s top players and now has the benefit of playing in front of a Target Center crowd. It’s officially the Timberwolves’ series to lose and I think they’re confident enough to take the 3-0 lead.
For the best bet, we’ll take Minnesota as the 5-point favorite. The Timberwolves have outscored the Nuggets by a 16.5 PPG clip to begin this series on top of their being 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings between these teams. That’s without mentioning how the T-wolves are also 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games against the Jokic & Co.

Best Timberwolves vs Nuggets NBA Game 3 Prop Bet (5/10)
While most people will look to the likes of Nikola Jokic and Anthony Edwards for a prop pick, we’re taking Naz Reid to record 2+ threes made (-106).
Reid has been having a career season from deep and his latest stretch further emphasizes that. The ex-LSU Tiger is averaging 1.9 threes made on 39.5% shooting across his last eight games, finishing with at least a pair of three-pointers six times — including four in Game 2. Additionally, the Over is 3-1 in his last four outings at Target Center.
Having hit the Over in back-to-back games to begin this series, you won’t want to ignore this Reid prop.
