See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe 2022-23 NBA season rolls on with a new slate of games for Thursday, Nov. 3. Two Western Conference teams with m watching 4-3 records collide when the Denver Nuggets travel to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at 8 p.m. ET.
The Nuggets enter this game looking for some momentum following a 121-110 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. Getting a victory won’t be easy, though, as Denver is only 1-3 on the road this year, having now lost back-to-back games away from Ball Arena.
Meanwhile, the Thunder are a solid 3-1 at home and have won three consecutive games at Paycom Center. Their most recent victory was a 116-108 effort against the lowly Orlando Magic, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 34 points on 12-of-18 shooting.
There’s a lot to take in before Thursday’s Nuggets vs Thunder game. Fortunately, Betting News has gathered the game’s odds while also having a prediction and best bet for tonight’s contest.

Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction and Picks
Nuggets vs Thunder Prediction: Nuggets 118, Thunder 113
Nuggets vs Thunder Picks: Thunder +6 (Best Value: -112 at BetOnline) & Over 229 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
The Nuggets may not have had much road success yet, but that could change tonight. The Thunder are one of those teams that Denver excels against, with the latter going 7-2 straight up in the last nine head-to-head matchups.
The two sides already met this season back on Oct. 22, resulting in a 122-117 victory over the Nuggets. It was a close-fought outing where both teams never led more than nine points.
In the end, Denver’s superior three-point shooting (20-of-38, 52.6%) was the difference-maker. On top of that, superstar center Nikola Jokic recorded 19 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists for yet another triple-double.
However, don't count on the Nuggets having that level of success again. The Thunder’s perimeter defense is much better now than it was then. Entering Thursday night, Oklahoma City is tied for allowing the sixth-fewest threes (11.0) on the fifth-worst percentage (32.4%) this NBA season.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Nuggets can find a way to slow down Gilgeous-Alexander. He’s averaging 31.5 points and 6.8 assists per game thus far, having recorded 24-plus points in every outing.
The Nuggets do allow the fifth-fewest points to shooting guards this season, though. Gilgeous-Alexander may have scored 28 points against Denver almost two weeks ago, but that was still his second-worst output in 2022-23.
It’s also intriguing to see how the Thunder will handle Jokic. They’ve done a solid job of containing him recently. Jokic is averaging 21.7 points in his last six games against Oklahoma City, however, he did hit 61% of his field goals over that stretch.
As red-hot as the Thunder are at the moment, I do see the Nuggets getting the win on the road. Even though Oklahoma City has a great three-point defense, Denver found a way to score from range in the last meeting. I could see the likes of Michael Porter Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope exploiting any given holes.
It’s also worth noting that Denver is 6-2 straight up in the last eight Nuggets vs Thunder matchups in Oklahoma City. Nevertheless, the Nuggets are also 0-5 against the spread in their last five overall games against the Thunder and with the latter being on a hot streak, I’m backing Oklahoma City to keep the game close by covering the 6-point spread.
I’m also taking the over for this matchup. Both teams can score the ball, but the Nuggets’ defense is among the worst in the league so far, so I could see this game developing into a high-scoring affair.
