See Picks & Statistics For The GameNikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets put their three-game winning streak on the line when they pay a visit to the star-studded Phoenix Suns on Friday, Dec. 1.
The Nuggets’ third win in a row was a big one as Nikola Jokic’s triple-double (32 PTS/10 REB/15 AST) led them to a 134-124 victory against the Houston Rockets. Meanwhile, the Suns return home after a 112-105 loss to the Toronto Raptors halted their winning streak at seven games.
There’s a good chance that one of these teams will represent the West in the 2023-24 NBA Finals. After all, Bovada favors the Nuggets at +230 odds to win the Western Conference Finals while the Suns are right behind them in second at +300.

Nuggets vs Suns Prediction & Pick (Dec. 1)
A high-octane offense is one of the key reasons behind the Nuggets’ recent success.
Not only is Denver averaging 126.3 points during its winning streak, but the Nuggets are also shooting 51.4% from the field and 44.1% from the three-point line during that span. Unsurprisingly, Jokic has been at the center of it all, averaging 35.5 PPG on .604/.500/.923 splits in his last two outings alone.
Having said that, the Serbian superstar hasn’t done it all on his own. Reggie Jackson has stepped up, averaging 23.0 points and 7.0 assists in his last three games. In fact, five Nuggets are averaging double-digit point totals during the three-game heater.
It isn’t like the Suns’ roster is devoid of talent, though. Kevin Durant is operating on a 33.5 PPG clip over his last six outings while Devin Booker is averaging 26.3 points in his eight previous contests. Role players like Eric Gordon and Grayson Allen have also been doing their part.
Nevertheless, the Suns won’t be at full power tonight. Bradley Beal is still on the shelf with a back injury while Devin Booker (ankle) is questionable to suit up. While there might be an outside chance of Booker playing, Phoenix insider Felix Cruz reports that the 27-year-old sharpshooter likely won’t face the Nuggets.
“Expectations are that [Booker will] miss Friday vs. Denver, be questionable on Saturday vs. Memphis and ready to go for Tuesday's in season tournament game vs. the LA Lakers.” — Suns insider Felix Cruz
For those who are curious, the Suns are 12-19 SU in their last 31 games without Booker.
Assuming that Booker doesn’t play, I don’t see the Nuggets losing tonight. Durant is great, but chances are he can’t carry the Suns by himself to an upset win over the defending NBA Champions. It could wind up being a close one, but Denver’s depth and its ability to consistently hit three-point shots will pay off in the end.
Considering how they’re 4-2 ATS in their last six encounters with the Suns, the Nuggets shouldn’t struggle to cover the 2-point spread.
Nuggets vs Suns Prediction: DEN wins
Best Nuggets vs Suns Bet: DEN -2 (-110 on Bovada)
Nuggets vs Suns Best Player Prop
Even though he’s coming off a 15-helper game, I’m taking the Under on Nikola Jokic’s 9.5-assist total as the best Nuggets vs. Suns prop bet.
Jokic is a phenomenal playmaker, but the Under on this prop is 11-7 this season, which includes going 4-2 in his last six outings. Furthermore, the two-time NBA MVP has yet to record back-to-back outings with double-digit assist totals so far.
That’s even without mentioning how the Suns allow the seventh-fewest assists per game while allowing the ninth-worst shooting percentage. In other words, it’s going to be tougher for Jokic to rack up assists — especially if his teammates are having a tougher time scoring the ball.
Best Nuggets vs. Suns Prop: Nikola Jokic u9.5 Assists (-135 on Bovada)
