Six games, six wins for the home team. That is the long and short of the Mavs vs. Suns series thus far, and if the trend holds true once more, the Suns will advance to the Western Conference finals for the second straight season.
The Suns strolled to wins in Games 1, 2, and 5 at the Footprint Center, while the Mavs held serve in Games 3, 4, and 6 at American Airlines Center in Dallas. And we have yet to have a truly close game, with Phoenix’s seven-point win in Game 1 the tightest margin of victory thus far.
Will the series decider play out like the first six games? Or will we actually get a close contest befitting the occasion?

Will the NBA’s Best Home Team Come Through Again to Eliminate the Mavs?
In the regular season, the Suns were the only team to win 60+ games. In doing so, they posted identical 32-9 marks at home and on the road.
Home success especially has been a major part of the Suns’ rise and success across the last two seasons. Between the regular season and postseason, Phoenix is 72-22 at home.
This postseason, they have won five of six games at the Footprint Center, with the only loss coming in Game 2 of their first-round series against the New Orleans Pelicans.
And that is a game that might have turned out differently had Devin Booker not exited early with a hamstring issue after putting up 31 points in just 25 minutes.
In this series, they have had a fairly stress-free time at home.
In Game 1, the Mavs made a late rally, but the Suns were in control from the outset in a 121-114 win.
Then in Game 2, they trailed by two at halftime but outscored the Mavs 71-49 in the second half of a 129-109 win.
And in Game 5, Phoenix led by only three at the half, but they dominated the second half once again, outscoring Dallas 61-34 in a 110-80 win.
So, even after losing for the third time in three games in Dallas and looking pretty uncompetitive for much of their 113-86 loss in Game 6, the Suns are unlikely to be too worried about what lies ahead in Game 7.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns Game 7 Prediction and Best Bets
Mavs vs. Suns Prediction: Suns 112, Mavs 102
Mavs vs. Suns Best Bets: Suns -6.5 (-110 at BetOnline and Bovada Sportsbook) and OVER 204.5 (-113 at BetUS)
Across this year’s playoffs and last year’s run to the NBA Finals, this will be only the second time that the Suns have had a chance to put a team away at home.
The only other opportunity came in Game 5 of last season’s Western Conference finals against the Clippers, which they lost 116-102 before sealing the series with a 130-103 win in Game 6 in Los Angeles.
For all of the strides that the Mavs have made to finally make it out of the first round again and push the Suns to seven, they are still not quite there yet.
And even another big game from Luka Doncic is unlikely to be enough.
In his NBA career, Doncic has played in Phoenix seven times, and he has come out on the winning side only once, a 120-113 win on November 29, 2019, before the bubble run, Chris Paul’s arrival in Phoenix, and all the rest.
His day will come, but it will not come today.
Best Prop Pick for Mavs vs. Suns Game 7
- Chris Paul over 16.5 points (+100 at BetUS), over 20.5 points + rebounds (-115 at BetOnline), over 25.5 points + assists (-110 at Bovada Sportsbook), and over 29.5 points + rebounds + assists (-125 at BetOnline)
In Phoenix’s series clincher against the Pelicans, Paul had a perfect shooting night–14 of 14 overall from the field, 1 of 1 from three, and 4 of 4 from the charity stripe–and recorded 33 points, five rebounds, and eight assists to lead the Suns to a Game 6 win.
He has had quite the knack for showing up and showing out in such games in his time in Phoenix. He had 41 points, four rebounds, and eight assists in the Western Conference title-clinching win over the Clippers last year.
That followed his 37 points, three rebounds, and seven assists when they broke out the brooms against the Denver Nuggets at this stage last season.
Given what he has previously done, there needs to be no hesitation with grabbing the over with his points prop and with any related combo props. Scoring may not be his priority many nights, but he has an ability and affinity for doing it when he needs to, and tonight is one such occasion.
If you want to back him to be hot with his shot tonight, BetOnline has him at +240 to score 20+ points and +870 to score 25+ points.
