It’s rivalry night tonight at Crypto.com Arena, but all of the stars won’t be shining on the court as the Los Angeles Lakers face off with the Los Angeles Clippers (10:00 pm ET, TNT).
Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden will all feature tonight, but LeBron James (left ankle pain) will miss his fifth game of the season.
The Clippers (27-14) would have been favored over the Lakers (22-22) anyway, but with LeBron out, they are favored by a much more significant margin.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction and Picks
Lakers vs Clippers Betting Analysis and Prediction
After suffering three straight season sweeps and 11 straight losses to the Clippers, the Lakers have won the first two head-to-head matchups this season, winning 130-125 in overtime on November 1 and 106-103 on January 7.
Both of those victories came with LeBron playing a starring role, as he had 35 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in the November win and 25 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in the win earlier this month.
Can the Lakers win without him tonight? It would only be fitting if they were to manage to do so, given what we have seen from them. However, it isn’t likely that they will.
This season, the Lakers are 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS without LeBron.
- Utah Jazz (1/13 – away): lost 132-125 – did not cover +2.5
- Minnesota Timberwolves (12/21): lost 118-111 – covered +8.5
- San Antonio Spurs (12/13): won 122-119 – did not cover -3.5
- Portland Trail Blazers (11/12 – home): won 116-110 – did not cover -8.5
This season, the Lakers are 10-19 SU and 8-21 ATS when allowing 110 or more points. On the other hand, the Clippers are 24-5 SU and 20-9 ATS this season when scoring 110 or more points. If the Lakers show up and show out, fair play to them, but the numbers here point one direction and one direction only.
Prediction: Clippers to win and cover
