See Picks & Statistics For The GameKevin Durant, Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns welcome the Sacramento Kings into PHX Arena. Both of these Pacific Division teams need to get into the win column. A battle of seemingly two play-in teams. A lot of purple in this one. Should be lots of fun. Let’s talk hoops!

Can Devin Booker and Kevin Durant drag this team into the playoffs?
Sacramento Kings @ Phoenix Suns
The Kings have had a very interesting season but have been blown out in consecutive games. They’ve got the Grizzles, Cavaliers, Bucks, Celtics and Thunder for 5 of their next 6 games after this one. If Sacramento isn’t careful they’ll tumble further down the standings. Their star and leader Domantas Sabonis is a game time decision while still dealing with that hamstring that has kept him out now since March 1st.
The Suns are quickly fading too. They are 3-7 in their last ten and have lost two straight close games to the Grizzlies and Rockets. They are home after that four game road trip where they finished 1-3. Their one win was against the lowly Mavericks. Around the association players are starting to opt for surgeries and rest as teams tank. The Suns don’t own their own pick so that wouldn’t make sense for them. Expect this team to play hard but lose close games as they have been.

NBA Game Analysis
Unless Domantas Sabonis suits up in this one I do not like the Kings chances. They are 22nd in both steals and blocks. They simply do not have the defensive personnel to handle to Suns duo of stars. The Kings also played last night on Stephen Curry’s historic night of making his 4,000 three point shot. Tired legs and a losing streak is a bad combo. However, the Suns are 19th in defensive rebounding.
The Kings could control the glass and then let their own stars party. The Sacramento Kings are 10-4 in their last 14 games vs. bottom 10 scoring defences. Phoenix is 23rd in points allowed, 28th in assist-to-turnover ratio, and 29th in steals. DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine should be able to operate well here.
The Suns are 18-13 at home meaning more than half their wins come with their home court advantage. However, The Phoenix Suns are 10-24-1 ATS in their last 35 games at home. So, they may win but it will be ugly. If Phoenix wants to be in the playoffs this is a game they must win. Phoenix just needs to be patient and play their game. The Suns are 7th in FG% and the Kings are 18th in opponent FG %. Booker and Durant just need to cook in this spot.
A Phoenix Sun for Life?
One piece of news worth noting is that Devin Booker has committed to remaining a Phoenix Sun for life. Devin Booker has failed to exceed 37.5 pts PRA in 5 of his last 6 games at home but he has exceeded 6.5 assists in 9 of his last 11 at home with a 7.7 assists per game average. The story coming out about his commitment should factor in tonight considering it will be a home game. Expect the crowd to be behind Booker extra tonight.
Devin Booker is fully committed to the Phoenix Suns for the rest of his career:
“Nor will Booker request a trade, regardless of how the Suns finish this season. Booker says he is fully committed to spending his entire career in Phoenix.”

NBA Best Bet: o232.5 Game Total (-110)
The over hit in 16 of the Sacramento Kings last 24 games vs. bottom 10 scoring defences. Both teams need a win and they get their wins by scoring. Two scribbles today and two game total overs. What could go wrong? I’m hoping for a great night of NBA basketball.
Zach LaVine took just six field goal attempts over 32 minutes of playing time last night vs. Golden State.
That’s the least field goal attempts he’s taken in a game (min. 30 minutes played) in his NBA career.
