Prediction for Nuggets vs Heat Game 4
The Denver Nuggets were absolutely in the zone in Game 3, picking up a big win on the road and to me, this might have been the Nuggets most impressive win in the entire playoffs.
After losing Game 2 at home, their first loss at home in the playoffs, doubt could have crept into the minds of the Nuggets players and staff. It sure created havoc outside of the locker room…
But, not only did the Nuggets push back, they dismantled the Heat at home in front of a sold out crowd in Miami to reestablish their dominance.
The stars for Denver shined brightest and did it in absolute style, doing something that has never been done in NBA history…ever.
You read that right. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are the first ever duo in NBA history to record 30 point Triple doubles in the same game.
Not only that, but Nikola Jokic stamped his name in the history books once again.
The Joker is the first player in history to record 30 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in a NBA Finals game.
Just add it to the list at this point.
But this ties in to what I mentioned before. Jokic and Murray have been awesome the entire playoffs, but when the Nuggets needed it most, both of their studs delivered in historic fashion.
I was on the Heat in Game 3 to possibly pick up where they left off in Game 2 and really put the pressure on the Nuggets in their home gym and use that important momentum.
Jokic and Murray said otherwise.
The pressure is back on Miami now, as they can’t afford to drop Game 3 AND 4 at home, with the threat of a must win game back in Denver for Game 5. I am not sure, though, they have the firepower the keep up with the Nuggets anymore in this series.
The Heat have had a great run. They deserve to be in the Finals and Jimmy Butler has cemented himself as one of the clutches basketball players in history with his performances all playoffs long. But I think they have just run into an immovable object.
Best Bet for Nuggets vs Heat Game 4
You probably think that I am going to take the Nuggets after what I just said. And I really do think the Nuggets get the job done here in Game 4.
But man, this is tough. The Heat shot incredibly poorly in Game 3, and it still took Triple Doubles from Jokic and Murray to provide the finishing blow to this relentless Heat squad.
I might regret this decision but I am taking the Heat to cover here. Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, and Caleb Martin are the X factors in the rest of this series and if they can have a better shooting performance in Game 4, this game is going to be close.
I am taking the Heat with the points. This is the first time where I am not thinking of touching the Heat on the money line but I think this game will come down to the last few possessions.
Heat +3.5 (-112)
Player Prop for Nuggets vs Heat
Jimmy Butler o6.5 Assists (+114)
Well, you are probably wondering if I am a crazy person betting on this once again after how things went in Game 3.
I know he only managed 4 assists and the Heat really didn’t shoot very well. Not a great recipe for instilling confidence in the same play again.
But, this is too good a value to pass up.
The Heat are going to give their all to win this game. And the Heat are functioning best when everyone on the floor is contributing and knocking down their shots.
I have said this many times before and will continue to say it because it is a sound betting strategy. If I player burns you but the numbers where there and the read was correct, go straight back to him the next game.
I would be sick if Jimmy had 10 assists in this game and I didn’t take it because he didn’t come through for me last game.
If the Heat want to level the series, Butler is going to have to facilitate. And I think he does.
Last point, before last game, Jimmy had 7+ assists in 5 straight games against Denver. Let’s make it 6/7.
Bonus: Butler 8+ assists (+220)
