The Boston Celtics (20-6) aim to put last night’s loss in the rearview mirror when they face the Sacramento Kings (16-9) in an NBA TV matchup on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Despite leading by as many as 17 points on Tuesday, the Celtics couldn’t hold on as they fell 132-126 to the Golden State Warriors in overtime, outscored 11-5 in the extra frame. Meanwhile, the Kings aim for their fourth win in a row after De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Keegan Murray combined for 83 points in a 143-131 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday.
With plenty of betting opportunities in store tonight, let’s not waste more time and dive into my Celtics vs Kings predictions and best bets.

Celtics vs Kings Prediction & Pick (Dec. 20)
Things looked extremely promising for the Celtics last night as they headed into the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead. Obviously, things didn’t go their way, but the result could’ve been different had Boston not shot just 41.2% from the floor and 29.3% from three-point range.
Nevertheless, the Celtics have excelled at bouncing back from losses this season. They’ve only lost consecutive games on one occasion so far, which took place at the beginning of November. Since then, the C’s are 4-0 SU with a plus-9.3 average scoring margin following a loss.
I also doubt that Boston will have a poor shooting performance on back-to-back nights. While the Kings are a good team, most of their success stems from a strong offense. After all, opponents are averaging 117.2 PPG (10th-most) with 48.8% field-goal (6th-highest) and 37.8% three-point (7th-highest) percentages against Sacramento.
For reference, the Celtics rank 3rd-best, 4th-best, and 15th-best, respectively, in those regards.
The Kings have stood tall more often than not at Golden 1 Center this season, going 10-3 SU overall while winning four straight home games ahead of tonight’s contest. But despite all of that success, Sacramento isn’t exactly blowing out teams at home, only boasting a plus-4.1 average scoring margin (15th).
And while playing on the road is tough for some teams, the Celtics tend to enjoy trips to Sactown. The C’s are 4-2 SU in their last six road games against the Kings, most recently winning 132-109 back on March 21 as Jayson Tatum stole the show with 36 points on 56.0% shooting with eight rebounds and two steals.
In fact, Boston hasn’t lost to Sacramento in nearly three years, having won each of the last four meetings between these teams. The key to that success is that the Celtics averaged 127.0 points in those contests while the Kings operated on a 96.3 PPG clip. Yes, you read that correctly.
After an embarrassing collapse against the Warriors, let’s go with the Celtics to get back on track tonight. Boston will be determined to make a statement and its stars will take advantage of a Sacramento team that struggles to defend all across the court. It might come down to the wire, but the Celtics are in a good spot to find more success against the Kings.
Additionally, I do like the Over on the 237.5-point total. Not only has the Over hit in six of the Celtics’ last nine games, but it’s also 10-3 at Golden 1 Center this season. On top of that, Boston is coming off a game that just featured 258 points while Sacramento’s last three tilts saw an average of 251.3 scored.
In other words, expect fireworks in Cali.

Best Celtics vs Kings NBA Player Prop (Dec. 20)
We’re heading over to Bovada for the best Celtics vs. Kings player prop, which happens to be De’Aaron Fox Over 2.5 threes made.
After averaging 1.3 threes made in his career, Fox is having a career year from downtown, averaging personal bests when it comes to threes made per game (3.2) and three-point percentage (38.2%). He’s finished with at least a trio of threes in 12 of 19 games thus far, which includes making good on this prop six times in his last eight outings alone.
After the Celtics allowed the Warriors to shoot 20-of-50 (40.0%) from three-point range last night, I don’t see Fox struggling to hit the Over tonight.
