See Picks & Statistics For The GameAfter a tough loss in Donovan Mitchell’s debut on Wednesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers will try to get their first win with their new star tonight as they visit the Chicago Bulls.
In Wednesday’s opener at Toronto, Mitchell made a big splash, scoring 31 points and dishing out nine assists. But after leading by eight entering the fourth quarter, Cleveland was outscored 32-21 in the final period in a 108-105 loss.
The Bulls are coming off of a tough loss as well. They won their opener in Miami on Wednesday thanks to a huge game by DeMar DeRozan, but they fell in the final seconds last night to Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards.
Chicago may have one of the best home records in the Eastern Conference last season, but the Bulls are an underdog for their home opener. But they are due to receive a big personnel boost tonight, which could flip things in their favor.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls Prediction and Best Bets

After missing the first two games of the season, Zach LaVine will be suiting up tonight for the Bulls.
Last season, LaVine (24.4 PPG) and DeRozan (27.9 PPG) formed one of the top duos in the league. And while things fizzled out for the Bulls at the back end of the season thanks in part to injuries, the prolific duo was why Chicago was in the mix for the best record in the Eastern Conference for a large chunk of the season.
Coming home for a back-to-back after a tough road game isn’t an easy task, but it is early in the season, and a fresh LaVine will be a big boost for Chicago tonight and help take the load off of DeRozan, who has started the new campaign with 37 and 32 points.
While with the Utah Jazz, Mitchell averaged over 25 points per game against the Bulls. And I expect him to have a productive night at the United Center. But it will be in a loss, as the Bulls will pick up the win in their home opener.
