It’s Tuesday and you know what that means: more NBA In-Season Tournament action. There are six group-stage matchups lined up for Nov. 21, including a clash between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers on TNT at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The 76ers have found a decent level of success in the group stage, improving to 2-1 with Friday’s 126-116 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers enter tonight’s game with a 1-1 record, coming off last week’s 108-100 victory against the Detroit Pistons.
Both sides are somewhat long shots to win the inaugural event. Philadelphia enters tonight’s matchup at +2600 odds (No. 12) to win the 2023-24 NBA In-Season Tournament while Cleveland is available at +5000 (T-No. 14), per Bovada.
Without wasting any more time, let’s dive into this betting preview to explore the latest game odds and trends, as well as my Cavaliers vs 76ers prediction and best bets.

Cavaliers vs 76ers Prediction & Pick (Nov. 21)
The first thing a lot of people will notice is the Cavaliers’… less-than-ideal injury situation heading into this matchup.
The Cavaliers have already ruled out Donovan Mitchell (hamstring), Ty Jerome (ankle), and Isaac Okoro (knee) for tonight’s showdown. That’s without mentioning how Caris LeVert is questionable with a knee injury.
The biggest blow is losing Mitchell, who leads the Cavaliers in points (29.2) and steals (2.0), as well as field goals (10.5) and three-pointers (3.5) made. If LeVert can’t suit up either, Cleveland will be without two of its top three scorers this season, which doesn’t inspire confidence against the 76ers, who averaged 120.5 PPG (No. 4).
Slowing down Philadelphia’s attack will be even more difficult without Okoro, who’s one of the Cavs’ best defenders despite his offensive shortcomings.
On the other side, the 76ers are as healthy as can be. Their only injury designation tonight is Kelly Oubre Jr., who hasn’t suited up since being struck by a car and likely won’t again until sometime in December, at best.
But at the same time, the 76ers have been surviving without him, going 3-2 since he last played. While that isn’t the most perfect record, it’s worth noting that Philly heads into this matchup following back-to-back victories with an average win margin of 16 points.
That could be bad news for Cleveland. After all, the Cavaliers have dropped six of their last seven trips to Wells Fargo Center, being held to fewer than 100 points four times while being outscored by an average of 10.6 points.
This game is the 76ers’ to lose. I can’t bring myself to back the Cavaliers, who have virtually zero wing depth at the moment. Couple that with Cleveland’s recent struggles at Wells Fargo Center and it’s easy to like Philadelphia defending home court tonight.
I also have no issue taking the 76ers on the spread. Nick Nurse’s team is not only 10-3 ATS this season, but it has also covered the spread in six of eight home games thus far. On the flip side, the Cavs are an abysmal 5-11 ATS dating back to the 2022-23 campaign.
With Cleveland also ravaged by injuries, Philadelphia should cover.
Cavaliers vs 76ers Prediction: PHI wins
Best Bet: PHI -7.5 (-110 on Bovada)
Cavaliers vs 76ers Best Player Prop
For those looking for a strong Cavaliers vs. 76ers prop bet, I suggest backing Tyrese Maxey to finish with 25+ points.
Maxey has been electric in his fourth NBA season, averaging 26.8 points on .475/.446/.953 while playing a league-high 38.1 minutes per outing. He’s made good on this prop eight times in 13 games (61.5%) with half of those instances occurring at Wells Fargo Center.
Considering how Darius Garland and Craig Porter might be the Cavaliers’ only available guards tonight, I don’t see Maxey struggling to put up points. Expect another huge game from the ex-Kentucky Wildcat.
Bet: Tyrese Maxey 25+ Points (+100 on Bovada)
