Brooklyn Nets vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction and Picks
Nets vs Lakers Betting Analysis and Prediction
On December 8, the Nets improved to 12-9 with a 27-point win over the Washington Wizards.
Then they went west for a road trip, and things have not been the same since. In their last 19 games, the Nets are 4-15 SU and 3-15-1 ATS, including 2-10 SU and 1-11 ATS away from home. In their last ten games, they are 1-9 SU and 1-8-1 ATS, including 1-6 SU and 1-5-1 ATS.
While the Lakers can be an extremely frustrating team at times—you don’t get to 21-21 without having a penchant for being extremely frustrating—I don’t see a slip-up happening for them tonight.
Prediction: Lakers to win and cover

Anthony Davis over 16.5 rebounds + assists (-115 at Bovada)
In his last three games, AD has put up 26 rebounds + assists (15 rebounds, 11 assists against the Jazz), 20 rebounds + assists (15 rebounds, five assists against the Thunder), and 21 rebounds + assists (12 rebounds, nine assists against the Mavericks).
Overall, he has over 16.5 rebounds + assists five times in eight January games.
And though Fridays are statistically his worst day ofo the week, he is averaging 12.7 RPG and 3.9 APG against the Eastern Conference and 12.7 RPG and 3.9 APG in wins. Round those up and you have 13 + 4, which equals straight cash, homie.
LeBron James over 24.5 points (-114 at BetOnline)
Fridays have been fantastic for LeBron thus far this season, and I’m looking for that trend to continue tonight.
- 1/5 vs Memphis Grizzlies: 32 points (11 of 24 FG, 4 of 9 3PT, 6 of 10 FT), seven assists, five rebounds
- 12/15 at San Antonio Spurs: 23 points (7 of 17 FG, 2 of 6 3PT, 7 of 10 FT), 14 assists, seven rebounds
- 11/17 at Portland Trail Blazers: 33 points (13 of 22 FG, 5 of 9 3PT, 4 of 6 FT), nine assists, five rebounds
- 11/10 at Phoenix Suns: 32 points (11 of 17 FG, 3 of 4 3PT, 7 of 11 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists
As you can see, LeBron has taken 17 or more shots in each Friday game, and he has taken 17 or more shots in eight of his last nine games overall.
If he has at least that many attempts tonight, the percentages heavily favor this play. He has taken 17 or more shots 26 times in 38 games this season (68.4%), and in 20 of those 26 instances (76.9%), he has scored 25 or more points.
Mikal Bridges (Nets) under 23.5 points (+105 at Bovada)
I love overs, but numerous trends point to the under being the much better bet here.
Statistically, Fridays are Bridges’ worst day of the week. He is averaging only 17.3 PPG in seven Friday games this season; his next lowest average is 19.3 PPG on Tuesdays (four games).
Playing on one day of rest is unfavorable as well:
- No rest (six games): 15.5 PPG, 43.2% FG
- One day of rest (24 games): 21.0 PPG, 42.7% FG
- Two days of rest (six games): 25.7 PPG, 52.9% FG
- Three or more days of rest (four games): 26.0 PPG, 47.2% FG
He hasn’t put up huge scoring numbers against the other Pacific Division teams this season, either:
- Golden State Warriors (12/16): 18 points (6 of 17 FG, 3 of 4 3PT, 3 of 3 FT)
- Los Angeles Clippers (11/8): 10 points (4 of 11 FG, 1 of 4 3PT, 1 of 2 FT)
- Phoenix Suns (12/13): 21 points (7 of 19 FG, 3 of 9 3PT, 4 of 5 FT)
- Sacramento Kings (12/11): 22 points (6 of 13 FG, 3 of 5 3PT, 7 of 7 FT)
Additionally, his scoring average is lower on the road (20.8 PPG) than at home (22.1 PPG) and against Western Conference teams (18.2 PPG in 14 games) than Eastern Conference teams (23.1 PPG in 26 games).
Lastly, my predicted result tonight for the Nets is a loss, and Bridges’ scoring average is lower in losses (20.4 PPG in 24 losses) than wins (22.9 PPG in 16 wins).
