Another new slate of 2022-23 NBA games is upon us on Thursday, Nov. 10. One game worth watching is a 76ers vs Hawks showdown as Philadelphia and Atlanta meet in a game where the latter will debut its new city uniforms for the season.
After losing two games in a row, the 76ers rebounded with a 100-88 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday. Even without James Harden, Philly was too much to handle, led by Joel Embiid finishing with 33 points and 10 rebounds for a fourth double-double of the season.
Meanwhile, the Hawks had their three-game winning streak ended at the hands of the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. Atlanta looked to be well on its way to victory but was ultimately handed a 125-119 loss due to a 40-point fourth quarter from Utah.
There’s a lot to take in before Thursday’s 76ers vs Hawks game. Fortunately, Betting News has gathered the game’s odds while also having a prediction and best bet for tonight’s contest.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction and Picks
76ers vs Hawks Prediction: Hawks 109, 76ers 103
76ers vs Hawks Picks: Hawks -1 (Best Value: -112 at BetOnline) & Under 222.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
Thursday’s game marks the first of two times that the 76ers and Hawks will collide this week. With the teams set to meet again in Philadelphia on Saturday, starting off the mini series with a victory is absolutely crucial.
Entering this matchup, the 76ers have won each of their last three road games. Tyrese Maxey was a driving force in those victories, averaging 28.7 points while shooting 57.1% from the floor and 54.2% from three-point range.
Unfortunately, Philly will be without Harden, who’s out for the next month with a foot injury. The 10-time NBA All-Star also played a key role in his team’s last three road wins, averaging 16.3 points and 10.7 assists.
As great as Maxey has been, he’s going to have a tough time matching both Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. The Hawks’ backcourt duo has been averaging 27.6 PTS/3.4 REB/9.4 AST and 22.6 PTS/6.5 REB/8.1 AST, respectively, and hasn’t shown signs of slowing down.
Meanwhile, De’Anthony Melton will continue to fill in for Harden as the 76ers’ starting shooting guard. The 24-year-old hasn’t had too much success in a bigger role, though, averaging just 7.7 points with a 37.4% field-goal percentage in 59 career starts.
Fans shouldn’t expect a lot of mistakes in this game. The 76ers and Hawks are incredibly careful with the ball, both sitting inside of the top four when it comes to the fewest turnovers per game.
Don’t be surprised if this game is decided in the paint. Though the Hawks were known for their three-point shooting last season, they haven’t had much success from beyond the arc this year. It’s led to them averaging 54.0 points in the paint (PITP) per game, ranking sixth-most in the Association.
Meanwhile, Embiid being sidelined more often than not has led to the 76ers averaging the fewest PITP (41.3) this season. Even with his being back, the Hawks have done a great job at slowing Embiid down in the past. Including the playoffs, he’s averaged just 21 points on 34-of-83 shooting (41.0%) in his last five games against Atlanta.
I think that the 76ers are too banged-up to get the job done here. The Hawks are tough to beat at home and their backcourt is just too much for Philadelphia to handle without Harden.
With a 1-point spread, this is a pick’em situation. Considering how the Hawks have -112 odds on the moneyline and to cover the spread, bettors can go with either of those options as the best bet.
I’m also predicting a low-scoring affair. The total has hit the under one each of the last seven 76ers vs Hawks games, averaging out to 203.4 points with at least one side finishing with fewer than 100 in each of the last five meetings.
In other words, back the total finishing below 222.5 points.
