The Cup Series isn’t the only NASCAR series that is in Chicago this weekend. The Xfinity Series will do its thing on the Windy City streets in The Loop 121 (5:00 pm ET, USA).
Sunday, the Cup Series will be in the spotlight as the Grant Park 220 takes place (5:30 pm ET, NBC).
But on Saturday, it’s all about the Xfinity Series, as the likes of Cole Custer, Austin Hill, and points leader John Hunter Nemechek will take part in the fourth of eight non-oval races of the season.
With qualifying to come (noon ET, USA), here’s a look at the odds for the Xfinity Series Chicago street race.

The Loop 121 Predictions and Picks
As with the odds for the Grant Park 220, racers with a history of success on road courses comprise the NASCAR betting favorites for the Xfinity race.
Custer finished 32nd at the Pit Boss 250 at Circuit of the Americas in March, but he fared much better in the back-to-back road races in Portland and Sonoma. He took the win at the Pacific Office Automation 147 in Portland, then finished sixth the next week at the DoorDash 250 at Sonoma Raceway.
Allgaier, meanwhile, has three top-ten finishes in this season’s first three road races, coming in fifth at Circuit of the Americas, second in Portland, and seventh at Sonoma.
Creed was on the pole in Portland, where he finished seventh, and he finished ninth at Circuit of the Americas and 11th at Sonoma. While Creed has yet to pick up a top-five finish on a non-oval this season, he won Stage 2 of the Pit Boss 250 and Stage 1 of the race in Portland.
Those three drivers are all worth a look for The Loop 121, as is Austin Hill, who is second behind Nemechek in the points standings.
Hill hasn’t won since winning three of the first four races this season, but he still leads the series in wins this season and goes into Saturday’s race on a hot run.
In his last six races, Hill has finished fourth, fourth, fourth, fifth, eighth, and fourth. He finished 37th at Circuit of the Americas, but he finished fifth in Portland and eighth at Sonoma.
What about the series points leader? He may be near the top of the list of betting favorites for The Loop 121, but I don’t think too highly of his chances to land in Victory Lane when he has finished 27th, 10th, and 16th in the three road races in 2023.
NASCAR Xfinity Series 2023 Season Points Standings (Through 15 Races)
- John Hunter Nemechek – 585 points
- Austin Hill – 576
- Justin Allgaier – 544
- Cole Custer – 534
- Josh Berry – 470
When it comes to which driver is most likely to take the checkered flag in Chicago, it’s hard to look past Custer.
Along with having a recent road win, Custer has been excellent since his poor finish in Austin.
In the nine races since, Custer has finished no worse than ninth. He has recorded six finishes inside the top five, including his Portland win, and his ninth-place finish at last week’s Tennessee Lottery 250 was his worst finish since that 32nd-place finish at Circuit of the Americas.
There are many Xfinity Series weekends where at least a few Cup Series regulars take part, but even with the two series in the same town this weekend, no Cup Series regulars will be doing the double for The Loop 121 and Grant Park 220.
With the likes of Larson, A.J. Allmendinger, or Aric Almirola focusing on Sunday’s race, that only boosts Custer’s hopes to claim his second win of the season.
In addition to being the favorite for the race, Custer is +120 for a top-three finish and -140 for a top-five finish. All three of those have excellent value, and so does backing Allgaier (-120) and Hill (+200) for top-five finishes.
Where to Bet on The Loop 121
The Xfinity Series Chicago street race betting odds mentioned in this article came from Bovada, but they aren’t the only sports betting site out there offering NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series odds.
There are a number of online sportsbooks that are good for betting on NASCAR, but the above books are four that we highly recommend.
