The NASCAR Truck Series playoffs continue on Saturday with the only race of the month. This stop on the circuit brings the drivers to Richmond, Virginia for more short track racing.
Two weeks ago, Grant Enfinger secured his spot in the Round of 8 with a victory in Indianapolis. There are on 7 spots remaining, and there are 9 drivers still in the running for those 7 spots.
The season is heating up heading into race #18. With this being the only race of August, drivers will be eager to get the green flag waving, especially if there is a spot in the next round on the line.

NASCAR Truck Series at Richmond Best Bets
John Hunter Nemechek +300
Nemechek is in a good position to. advance into. the next round of the playoffs. He currently sits 24 points above the cutoff line, and he is the odds on favorite in Richmond.
He only has one victory this year, but it was at a trickier track in Darlington. He also has 12 Top 10s to go along with the win, and he has been the frontrunner for the championship all season long.
Nemechek is a pretty heavy favorite, so the value may not be as high this weekend. Nonetheless, he is still a great option. He provides more safety in a bet, and he is running to secure his spot in the next round, just in case. something crazy happens in the next two weeks.
Zane Smith +420
Zane Smith is almost a lock for the next round, and he helped his chances with a 3rd place finish at Indy two weeks ago. It was his series leading 10th Top 5 of the season, which seems to be a pattern that is forming for the young driver.
Smith still leads the series in wins this season, but he can’t seem to find that 4th victory. He has been close on multiple occasions since his last win, but the cards have not fallen his way.
He has developed himself into a championship favorite, and barring any crazy circumstances, he should be running for the title at the end of the year. He holds more value than Nemechek this week, but he is still one of the safer options.
Carson Hocevar +600
Hocevar is one of the drivers who is near the cut line for the next round. He will need to ensure good finishes to stay above the line and advance. However, a win would surely move him forward, and he has been close to that 1st of the season with 3 Top 5s in his last 4 races.
Hocevar currently sits 8th in playoff points just 7 points above the cut line. He is not as safe as the other two drivers on the list this week, so expect him to push the envelope a bit.
At +600 he is the best value bet this week. It’s a bit risky, but given his recent finishes and playoff positioning, it would not shock me if he found victory lane to move into the Round of 8. At Bristol he finished 2nd, so short tracks are a strength for the 19 year old.
