Last week, Christopher Bell became the first driver in four years to win three consecutive NASCAR Cup Series races in a season. Today, Bell will look to become the first driver since 2007 to take the checkered flag in four straight races at the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (3:30 pm ET, FS1).

Does History Beckon for Bell?
After winning at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Circuit of the Americas, Bell went into last week’s Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway looking for a third straight victory. After starting 11th, Bell led 105 of 312 laps and beat out Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin to become the first driver since Kyle Larson in 2021 to win three straight races.
Today, Bell will look to become the first driver since Jimmie Johnson in 2007 to win four straight races in a season. Johnson is one of eight drivers in NASCAR’s modern era (since 1972) to achieve the feat, and if Bell can do it, it might be a good omen for Bell’s hopes to win his first Cup Series championship. Of those eight drivers, five went on to win the championship: Cale Yarborough (1976), Darrell Waltrip (1981), Dale Earnhardt Sr. (1987), Jeff Gordon (1998), and Johnson (2007).
Speaking of this year’s Cup Series championship, Bell is currently the favorite, as per Bovada’s futures odds.
Current NASCAR Cup Series Championship Odds
- Christopher Bell +350
- Kyle Larson +450
- William Byron +600
- Ryan Blaney +750
- Denny Hamlin +800
- Tyler Reddick +800
- Joey Logano +900
- Chase Elliott +1000
- Chase Briscoe +2500
- Kyle Busch +2500

Larson won last year’s Pennzoil 400, the fourth straight win for Hendrick Motorsports in this race following wins by him in 2021, Bowman in 2022, and Byron in 2023.
Larson will start 10th, but according to both BetOnline and Bovada, he is the favorite to win the race. Polesitter Michael McDowell, however, is well down the odds at both sites.

2025 Pennzoil 400 Predictions and Picks
William Byron to finish in the top 5 (+120 at Bovada)
Last week’s top-five finish pick for Byron just missed, as he came in sixth at Phoenix Raceway. But back to the well we happily go, as the current points leader has run well thus far this season outside of his 27th-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Alex Bowman to finish in the top 5 (+215 at Bovada)
Bowman has yet to record a top-five finish this season, but he has three top-ten finishes, and this represents good value when he has had numerous good finishes here and qualified well.
Chris Buescher to finish in the top 10 (+115 at Bovada)
Buescher has had a solid start to the season, finishing a season-high fifth last week and recording three top tens in the first four races. He has only two top-ten finishes at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in his Cup Series career, but the value here is good.
Joey Logano to win the Pennzoil 400
Picking the guy whose primary sponsor is Pennzoil makes a lot of sense, doesn’t it? Especially when he has four career Cup Series wins at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, two in this race (2019 and 2020) and two in the fall race (2022 and 2024).
Logano, who will start on the front row with McDowell, has had a so-so start to his title defense, finishing outside of the top ten in each of the first four races. Look for that to come to an end in resounding fashion today.
