The 14th race of the Xfinity Series season will take place in Portland, Oregon on Saturday for the inaugural running of the Pacific Office Automation 147.
The series will race at Portland International Raceway for the first time in history. The track has a history dating back to 1960, as it has hosted IndyCar in the past. The track is just under 2 miles long, and it presents drivers with 12 unique turns and corners.
Road course racing has been taking a step forward in NASCAR, and it is no different this weekend for the Xfinity Series. According to BetOnline, A.J. Allmendinger is the heavy favorite to come away with his 2nd victory of the season.

A.J. Allmendinger +200
Allmendinger has excelled at road courses in every stage of racing. He has already won at a road course this season, and he will look to make it 2 for 2 on non-oval tracks.
He only has one finish outside of the Top 10 this season, and he is currently leading in the Xfinity Series points race. Even though the payout may not be the same as other underdog drivers, I can’t overlook the success at this style of track. Bet before the line gets even lower.
Ty Gibbs +350
Gibbs is having a fantastic season. He has 3 victories and 4 addition Top 10s. He finished second last week at Charlotte, and the team will be looking to improve upon that solid race and move up in the standings.
At the only other road course run this season, Gibbs finished 15th. He is capable of running much better than that, and his 3rd position in the standings shows it. With the equipment from Joe Gibbs racing, and the raw talent of the young driver, we should see a much better finish from Gibbs this weekend.
Sheldon Creed +850
The 2020 Truck Series champion knows what it takes to win at a high level of competition. He has had a very up-and-down season, but still has 6 Top 10s to hang his hat on.
As another experienced road racer, Creed is the underdog pick at +850. One of his Top 10s came at Circuit of the Americas, the other road course that has been on the schedule. He will be aiming for his first Top 5 this weekend, and will likely run towards the front when the end comes.
Xfinity Series at Portland Prediction and Pick
Even though betting the favorite isn’t always the way to go, it seems to make the most sense this weekend. A.J. Allmendinger has too much talent on road courses. Barring a mistake that would cost him the race, we will be looking at another solid finish, and likely, Allmendinger in victory lane.
