Now, back to the UFC Vegas 91 preliminary card predictions and picks.
UFC Vegas 91 Preliminary Card Odds & Picks
Rani Yahya vs. Victor Henry — Bantamweight
- Record: Rani Yahya (28-11-1, 1 NC) vs. Victor Henry (23-6, 1 NC)
- Moneyline: Rani Yahya (+290) | Victor Henry (-365)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-145) | Under (+115)
The oddsmakers are heavily favoring Victory Henry over Rani Yahya and they’re completely justified in doing so. Yahya has fought only once in the last three years and that was a first-round KO loss to Montel Jackson last April. I just don’t think the underdog’s durability is there anymore, so look for Henry to end this one quickly.
Yahya vs. Henry Prediction: Henry via KO/TKO (+180)

Austin Hubbard vs. Michal Figlak — Lightweight
- Record: Austin Hubbard (15-7) vs. Michal Figlak (8-1)
- Moneyline: Austin Hubbard (+146) | Michal Figlak (-171)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-245) | Under (+195)
Austin Hubbard has been unable to establish consistency, fighting to a 3-5 record at the UFC level. I don’t see him faring well against Michael Figlak, who’s hungry to rebound after losing to Fares Ziam in his UFC debut. Figlak also has youth on his side and will look to prove early on that he belongs in the company.
Figlak hasn’t been finishing opponents lately, though, so look for him to win via points.
Hubbard vs. Figlak Prediction: Figlak via points (+130)
Don’Tale Mayes vs. Caio Machado — Heavyweight
- Record: Don’Tale Mayes (10-6, 1 NC) vs. Caio Machado (8-2-1)
- Moneyline: Don’Tale Mayes (-104) | Caio Machado (-116)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-170) | Under (+140)
Winning has recently eluded Don’Tale Mayes, who’s won just one of his last four outings while going 0-2 as the betting underdog. Needless to say, I don’t like him against Caio Machado, who’s also looking to rebound from his first-ever UFC loss. The Brazilian combatant won even straight fights before that loss, so I feel confident about his ability to get back on track.
These men have been involved in 17 finishes in 28 combined fights, though, meaning it’s safe to say this might not go the distance.
Mayes vs. Machado Prediction: Fight to Go the Distance — No (+110)
Marnic Mann vs. Ketlen Souza — Women’s Strawweight
- Record: Marnic Mann (6-2) vs. Ketlen Souza (13-4)
- Moneyline: Marnic Mann (+310) | Ketlen Souza (-375)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (-265) | Under (+205)
Marnic Mann is 0-2 at the UFC level and I don’t see her luck changing this weekend. Ketlen Souza has been an absolute beast to begin her MMA career and will be hungry to make an example out of Mann after being submitted by Karine Silva in her debut last June.
I see Souza dominating this fight from bell to bell before winning unanimously.
Mann vs. Souza Prediction: Ketlen Souza via unanimous decision (-105)
Chris Padilla vs. James Llontop — Lightweight
- Record: Chris Padilla (13-6) vs. James Llontop (14-2)
- Moneyline: Chris Padilla (+310) | James Llontop (-375)
- Round total: 2.5 — Over (+140) | Under (-170)
Here’s a fight between two hungry lightweights who are looking to make an impact in their UFC debuts. Chris Padilla heads to Las Vegas after finishing his last three opponents while James Llontop is currently on a 12-fight winning streak.
With that in mind, I can’t bet against Llontop. His winning ways speak for themselves and I’m unsure if Padilla can stop his momentum. Unfortunately, there aren’t any props available for this bout, so let’s stick with an outright win for now.
Padilla vs Llontop Prediction: Llontop ML (-375)

Ivana Petrović vs. Liang Na — Women’s Flyweight
- Record: Ivana Petrović (6-1) vs. Liang Na (19-7)
- Moneyline: Ivana Petrović (-500) | Liang Na (+375)
- Round total: 1.5 — Over (-140) | Under (+110)
I won’t overthink things when it comes to this fight. Liang Na has been horrendous lately, losing three consecutive outings via KO/TKO. Meanwhile, Ivana Petrović is off to a 6-1 start to her impressive MMA career with five finishes under her belt. Needless to say, I won’t be shocked if the favorite leaves the underdog knocked out this Saturday.
Petrović vs. Liang Prediction: Petrović via KO/TKO (+165)
Gabriel Benítez vs. Maheshate Hayisaer — Lightweight
- Record: Gabriel Benítez (23-11) vs. Maheshate Hayisaer (9-3)
- Moneyline: Gabriel Benítez (+194) | Maheshate Hayisaer (-229)
- Round total: 1.5 — Over (-170) | Under (+140)
I’m not a big fan of wagering on this UFC Vegas 91 fight due to the fighters’ lack of recent success. After beating Steve Garcia in his debut, Maheshate Hayisaer has lost back-to-back outings. Meanwhile, Gabriel Benítez owns a horrendous 2-5 record in his last seven outings.
Personally, I’d avoid this fight altogether, but I suggest taking an outright upset if you’re set on making a bet. Hayisaer has been brutal to watch, leaving the door open to a potential Benítez victory.
Benítez vs. Haysiaer Prediction: Benítez ML (+194)
