UFC 287 takes over Miami, Florida in just a handful of days. The night is filled with exciting MMA action, ranging from the main event to the early preliminary card. One main card bout that does stick out is the upcoming bantamweight showdown between former CES MMA Featherweight Champion Rob Font and Adrian Yanez.
Both men could use a victory if they hope to challenge for the UFC Bantamweight Championship any time soon. Font heads into Miami as the No. 6 fighter in the bantamweight division while Yanez is further behind at No. 12. Neither man has challenged for the gold before, leaving time to tell which will become one step closer after Saturday.
Betting News, once again, has you covered for all of your UFC 287 needs. That includes the latest Font vs. Yanez odds from several reputable sportsbooks, as well as an expert prediction and the best bets for the upcoming fight.

Yanez Favored Over Font, Per Oddsmakers
The four highlighted sportsbooks all favor Yanez to overcome Font at UFC 287. The 29-year-old is available at an average of -191 odds across the sources, carrying an implied win probability of 65.6%.
Yanez has been on the best run of his career, winning nine straight fights dating back to January 2019. After dominating the Texas MMA scene, the nine-year veteran has gone a perfect 6-0 under the UFC umbrella.
What’s even more impressive is Yanez’s finishing ability. Five of his six UFC victories have come by KO/TKO while the other was a split-decision win against Davey Grant. Three of those knockout victories came within the first round, including his latest win against Tony Kelley at UFC Austin back in June.
On top of that, Yanez has earned ‘performer of the night’ honors four times in his brief UFC tenure. If that’s a sign of things to come, there’s no chance he’ll go down without a fight this weekend.
Meanwhile, Font hopes to bounce back from back-to-back losses for the first time in his MMA career.
There was a time when Font was looking like a threat in the bantamweight division. He won four straight fights from December 2018 to May 2021, picking up impressive wins over the likes of Marlon Moraes and Cody Garbrandt.
Unfortunately, Font couldn’t capitalize on that momentum. The 35-year-old suffered a unanimous decision loss to Jose Aldo at UFC Vegas 44 despite out-striking the former UFC Featherweight Champion 149-86. Making matters worse, Font followed that defeat up with a unanimous decision loss to Marlon Vera just four months later.
Needless to say, this fight is a must-win situation for Font. He might be higher in the bantamweight rankings, but a third straight loss could send him tumbling down. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds to this pressure.
UFC 287 Betting Markets & Trends for Font vs. Yanez
BetOnline Sportsbook offers a variety of Font vs. Yanez markets that provide more value than just standard moneyline betting.
If you’re trying to figure out exactly how the fight will end, BetOnline favors Yanez winning by KO/TKO at +180 odds. Ten of his 16 career victories have come by knockout, including five of his six since joining the UFC. Having said that, Font has never been knocked out before.
If Yanez does knock Font out, he’s favored to do so in Round 1 at +500 odds. He has six career first-round knockout victories to his name — including three as a UFC fighter. Having said that, if Font is to pull off the upset, it’s also favored to be by KO/TKO in Round 1 at +2300.
Speaking of which, Font’s top victory method at UFC 287 is to win by points at +250 odds. This isn’t too surprising considering how six of his last seven fights have gone the distance. However, it’s important to remember that he’s lost his last two fights that have headed to the judges’ table.
Staying on the topic, BetOnline is favoring that this fight will go the distance at -116 odds.
Font vs. Yanez UFC 287 Fight Prediction
Even though Yanez is the favorite, I like the idea of Font pulling off an underdog win at UFC 287. Font has better striking accuracy (46%) and absorbs fewer significant strikes per minute (3.95) than Yanez (40% and 5.49, respectively). On top of that, Font is a tough fighter to finish and with Yanez not being used to longer fights during his UFC run, I see the underdog having an advantage here.
If you’re going to side with Font, go with whichever sportsbook has the best moneyline odds when you’re ready to make your bet. If you’re more uncertain of the outcome, I’m also comfortable backing the fight to go the distance at -116 odds on BetOnline is also viable.
Again, Font can survive a beating and is hard to finish and can likely dish what Yanez has to throw out. Considering how the latter hasn’t been finished in his career, I see this fight reaching the time limit.
