UFC 283 is set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Saturday, Jan. 21 with an excellent card. There’s something for all MMA enthusiasts this weekend, including the co-main event as Deiveson Figueiredo is set to defend the UFC Flyweight Championship against interim champion Brandon Moreno.
These two flyweights are hardly strangers to one another. Figueiredo and Moreno have clashed three previous times, earning ‘fight of the night’ honors in the last two meetings. Each man has one victory over the other with a tie in the mix as well, leaving time to tell who’ll walk out of Jeunesse Arena with the flyweight gold.
There’s a lot of excitement around the UFC 283 co-main event and it’s well deserved. Fortunately, Betting News has all of your Figueiredo vs Moreno needs, ranging from the latest odds to our picks for the fight.

Moreno Favored Over Figueiredo in UFC 283 Co-Main Event
The odds from the four highlight sportsbooks show that the UFC 283 co-main event should be a close one. Nevertheless, Moreno is the slight favorite across the board with his shortest odds sitting at -130 on BetOnline, carrying an implied probability of 56.5%.
Moreno has been tough to beat lately, going 6-1-2 in his last nine fights. After facing Figueiredo in three straight outings, Moreno scored a TKO win over Kai Kara-France at UFC 277 to become the interim flyweight champion. Figueiredo was dealing with injuries at the time, hence why an interim champ needed to be crowned.
Moreno hasn’t had a chance to fight again since winning the interim title, so it’ll be interesting to see how he comes out of the gate. If he wants to remove the interim tag from his resumé, he can’t afford a slow start.
Meanwhile, Figueiredo hasn’t fought since his trio of dances with Moreno. The two-time UFC Flyweight Champion defeated his rival by unanimous decision at UFC 270 but hasn’t been able to fight since then due to hand and knee injuries.
Those issues seem to be in the rearview mirror, though. Figueiredo is feeling good and looks to pick up from where he left off the last time he stepped foot into the octagon. He’s already proven that he can handle Moreno, after all.
The first three fights of this tetralogy have been closely contested and I expect the same on Saturday. Figueiredo does have the advantage of being in his home country, though, so it remains to be seen if he can parlay that momentum into a win. Still, Moreno won’t go down that easy, especially after vowing that he’ll end the rivalry this weekend.
At the end of the day, fans and bettors can expect a fight to remember.
UFC 283 Betting Markets & Trends for Figueiredo vs Moreno
BetOnline’s more in-depth markets give bettors a better idea as to how the UFC 283 co-main event could unfold.
For now, the most likely method of victory is for Moreno to win by decision at +210. What’s interesting is that he’s only 5-6 when his fights go the distance. Having said that, five of his last eight outings have headed to the judges’ table and he has a 2-1-2 record in those bouts.
Meanwhile, Figueiredo’s top method is to also win by decision, albeit at +250. He’s 4-1 in his career when going the distance, which includes the unanimous decision win over Moreno in his last outing.
Speaking of which, BetOnline sees this being a long fight, favoring it to go the distance at -134 odds. Two of the three previous bouts between the two flyweights ended in some sort of decision, so it wouldn’t be shocking if history repeated itself.
As far as method & round markets go, Figueiredo is favored to win by first-round knockout at +1300. While he has nine career knockout victories, he hasn’t won by KO/TKO in Round 1 since 2014.
Figueiredo vs Moreno UFC 283 Fight Prediction
I’m fully expecting another classic bout between these two that can go either way. However, if I have to pick a winner, I’m siding with Moreno. Yes, Figueiredo got the victory last time, but it remains to be seen how he looks after his injury issues. Meanwhile, Moreno rebounded from their last fight with an interim title win and has momentum on his side.
Keeping that in mind, I’ll take Moreno winning outright at -117 on BetUS as the best bet. If you’re unsure of who’ll win this close contest, I also recommend backing the fight to go the distance at -134 on BetOnline considering how Figueiredo and Moreno and reached the time limit twice.
