It’s an exciting time as ever to be an MMA fan because UFC 275 is quickly approaching. The thrilling pay-per-view event is taking place overseas at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on Saturday, June 11.
A lot of eyes will be on the main event between Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka, but there are many other bouts worth looking forward to. One of those just happens to be a women’s strawweight collision between Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
This isn’t the first time that the two foes have squared off. They previously met at UFC 248 when Zhang, who was the UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion at the time, successfully defended her title against Jedrzejczyk, winning by split decision.
Can Jedrzejczyk recreate history by winning once again? Or will Zhang turn the tables and walk away with the victory?

Zhang Looking to End Losing Streak
Zhang Weili is one of the more talented strawweight fighters that the UFC has to offer.
The 32-year-old proved that when she joined the promotion, winning her first five UFC fights in decisive fashion. However, the most impressive of those victories came when she knocked out Jéssica Andrade just 48 seconds into the first round to win the women’s strawweight championship at UFC Fight Night 157.
Unfortunately, Zhang had just one successful defense before losing her championship to Rose Namajunas at UFC 261 via first-round knockout. She then lost to Namajunas in a rematch at UFC 268, leaving her looking for a way to end this losing skid.
The good news for Zhang is that she’s the favorite across to board to win at UFC 275. As solid as Jedrzejczyk, Zhang has beaten her once and there’s no reason why she can’t do it again.
If Zhang wants to win, she needs to prevent the fight from going to the ground. She was successful at that in their last meeting, preventing Jedrzejczyk from taking her down on eight attempts.
Assuming Zhang can stick to her game plan by giving Jedrzejczyk not that much to work with, victory is within her grasp in Singapore.
Jedrzejczyk Returns to UFC for First Time in 2 Years
The MMA world hasn’t heard much from Joanna Jedrzejczyk. In fact, the former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion hasn’t stepped foot in the octagon since losing to Zhang — over two years ago.
It’ll be interesting to see whether or not Jedrzejczyk is rusty upon her return. A big part of her game came from her ability to outlast her opponents and only time will tell if she can still handle the workload.
The Olsztyn, Poland native also wasn’t doing too hot in general the last time we saw her. Including her loss to Zhang, Jedrzejczyk enters UFC 275 having lost four of her last six fights.
Prior to that stretch, she was a perfect 14-0, which shows just how much she’s struggled.
Even though the odds are against Jedrzejczyk, that doesn’t mean she can’t win. Sure, she lost to Zhang the first time, but the latter might be dealing with confidence issues following her own losing streak.
If the time off helped Jedrzejczyk feel more rejuvenated, there’s a chance that she can shock some people on Saturday.
UFC 275 Betting Markets for Zhang vs. Jedrzejczyk
If fans are looking for a variety of Zhang vs. Jedrzejczyk markets ahead of UFC 275, BetOnline Sportsbook has them covered.
BetOnline Sportsbook is listing Zhang’s favored method of victory as a decision win at +150 odds. She’s 4-1 in her last five fights that have gone the distance and considering how each of Jedrzejczyk’s last three losses have been by decision, it’s a valid option.
Speaking of Jedrzejczyk, her most likely method of victory is also to win by decision at +200.
If you’re looking to get into round betting, BetOnline is favoring for Zhang to be victorious within Round 1 at +600 odds. However, the sportsbook is also favoring the fight to go the distance at -220.
Zhang vs. Jedrzejczyk Fight Prediction
Both of these women know each other well, but I’m sticking with Zhang to beat Jedrzejczyk at UFC 275. At the end of the day, Jedrzejczyk hasn’t been in the octagon for two years and wasn’t even looking that great before her hiatus.
As for the best bet, I’m sticking with Zhang winning by decision at +150. It doesn’t provide the most value, but it seems like the likeliest option with how often both women have gone the distance recently.
