UFC 274 Main Card and Odds (Odds as of Saturday, May 7)
The UFC 274 odds listed below are via BetOnline Sportsbook.
UFC 274 Main Event: Charles Oliveira (-144) vs. Justin Gaethje (+122)
As mentioned above, UFC 274 will be headlined by a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between Charlies Oliveira (c) (32-8-0) and Justin Gaethje (23-3-0).
Oliveira has been on a roll ever since transitioning back to the lightweight division way back in April 2017. Since then, he’s gone 11-1-0 in his last 12 fights, which includes winning 10 in a row ahead of Saturday’s pay-per-view event.
Oliveira captured the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship in May 2021 when he defeated Michael Chandler via TKO. He’s since had one successful defense, defeating Dustin Poirier with a rear-naked chokehold to win by submission at UFC 269 a few months ago.
Gaethje has also been fighting well as of late. After back-to-back losses in 2017, he’s won five of his last six fights — with four of those victories coming by KO or TKO.
Gaethje’s only loss over that stretch came against the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov, which isn’t anything to be ashamed of. Only time will tell if Gaethje can use that experience to dethrone Oliveira.
Update: Oliveira missed weight and was stripped of his title belt. While the fight will go ahead, only Gaethje can claim the belt with a win.
UFC 274 Co-Main Event: Rose Namajunas (-220) vs. Carla Esparza (+184)
A UFC Women's Strawweight Championship bout will serve as the event’s co-main event when Rose Namajunas (11-4-0) defends her championship against Carla Esparza (18-6-0).
These two women aren’t strangers to each other whatsoever. The duo previously met during The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned Finale all the way back in December 2014.
Esparza won that meeting when she defeated Namajunas by submission in the third round to become the inaugural UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion.
While, Esparza didn’t have any successful defenses with the belt, she has won five straight bouts ahead of UFC 274, with her most recent victory coming against Yan Xiaonan by TKO in May 2021.
Namajunas has since become a two-time women’s strawweight champion since she last met Esparza. The titleholder has won six of her last seven fights, with each of her last two wins coming over Zhang Weili.
Lightweight: Michael Chandler (-390) vs. Tony Ferguson (+310)
Oliveira vs. Gaethje isn’t the only noteworthy lightweight bout on the UFC 274 card. Former Bellator Lightweight World Championship Michael Chandler (22-7-0) will go one-on-one with former interim UFC Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson (25-6-0).
Chandler enters the bought as the lightweight division’s No. 5 fighter. Although he won his UFC debut in January 2021, he’s struggled since then, going 0-2 in his last two fights against both fighters in the UFC 274 main event.
Ferguson has been dealing with his own skid lately. Including his interim lightweight championship lost to Gaethje, Ferguson has lost three fights in a row and will look to turn things around with an upset victory over Chandler.
Light Heavyweight: Maurício Rua (+235) vs. Ovince Saint Preux (-290)
There’s also some light heavyweight action to look forward to on the main card when Maurício Rua (27-12-1) faces off against Ovince Saint Preux (25-16-0).
A former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Rua has struggled with consistency lately. He hasn’t won consecutive fights in over five years and has gone 2-2-1 in his last five outings. It’ll be interesting to see if he can bounce back from his TKO loss to Paul Craig at UFC 255.
Saint Preux is also having a hard time buying a win. He’s 2-5-0 in his last seven bouts and hasn’t won a fight since September 2020, which will be 20 months ago once UFC 274 arrives.
Lightweight: Donald Cerrone (-174) vs. Joe Lauzon (+146)
A third lightweight fight on the UFC 274 main card will pit Donald Cerrone (36-16-2) against Joe Lauzon (28-15-0).
Cerrone was originally scheduled to fight Lauzon at the end of April, but it was rescheduled for unknown reasons. Nevertheless, “The Cowboy” has suffered five straight losses and will be searching for his first victory since May 2019.
On the other hand, Lauzon managed to snap a three-fight losing streak in his last bout when he defeated Jonathan Pearce by TKO over two years ago at UFC on ESPN 6. Only time will tell how he’ll look in his return to the octagon.
UFC 274 Preliminary Card
Welterweight: Randy Brown (-102) vs. Khaos Williams (-116)
The UFC 274 preliminary card offers an intriguing welterweight showdown between Randy Brown (14-4-0) and Khaos Williams (13-2-0).
Brown has been on a bit of a roll lately, going 4-1 in his last five fights. His last victory was a catchweight (174 lbs) contest against Jared Gooden, resulting in a unanimous decision victory for Brown.
Williams has, impressively, won 10 of his last 11 bouts. He earned ‘Performance of the Night’ honors in his last fight when he scored a third-round TKO victory over Miguel Baeza at UFC Vegas 42.
Welterweight: Francisco Trinaldo (-112) vs. Danny Roberts (-104)
Francisco Trinaldo (27-8-0) and Danny Roberts (18-5-0) will collide in welterweight combat at UFC 274.
Trinaldo has seen five four wins in his last five outings, with 80% of those bouts going the full distance. He’ll have his hands full with Roberts, who has won back-to-back fights and also had three of his last four victories coming by knockout.
Women’s Featherweight: Macy Chiasson (+198) vs. Norma Dumont (-240)
Former Ultimate Fighter 28 women’s featherweight tournament winner Macy Chiasson (7-2-0) will also be in action as she faces Norma Dumont (7-1-0) at UFC 274.
Chiasson missed weight in her last fight against Raquel Pennington at UFC Vegas 45 back in December. It ultimately resulted in a submission loss for Chiasson, so it’ll be interesting to see if she bounces back.
Meanwhile, momentum has been on Dumont’s side as she’s riding a three-fight winning streak — which includes going 2-0 in her return to the featherweight division.
Flyweight: Brandon Royval (-255) vs. Matt Schnell (+210)
Brandon Royval (13-6-0) will face Matt Schnell (15-5-0) in flyweight action as both men look to climb up the divisional rankings.
Both Royval and Schnell faced Rogério Bontorin in their respective most recent bout. Royval wound up winning his match by split decision, whereas Schnell lost by unanimous decision, however, the decision was ultimately overturned after Bontorin tested positive for a banned substance.
UFC 274 Early Preliminary Card
Heavyweight: Blagoy Ivanov (-156) vs. Marcos Rogério de Lima (+132)
The lone heavyweight tilt of the night will be fought between Blagoy Ivanov (18-4-0) and Marcos Rogério de Limo (19-7-1).
Ivanov enters the fight on a bit of a skid, having lost back-to-back fights. Meanwhile, Lima looks to keep his momentum going as he’s on a two-fight winning streak, with his last victory coming via TKO over UFC veteran Ben Rothwell.
Welterweight: André Fialho (-450) vs. Cameron VanCamp (+350)
Fans will be treated to welterweight action when André Fialho (15-4-0) steps into the octagon with Cameron VanCamp (15-5-1).
After losing his UFC debut to Michel Pereira by unanimous decision, Fialho rebounded with a TKO victory over Miguel Baeza at UFC on ESPN 34: Luque vs. Muhammad 2.
The 28-year-old has now won five of his last six fights, with each of those victories coming via KO or TKO.
Meanwhile, Vancamp has also been doing well for himself, winning five of his last six outings as well. The main difference here is that he won four of those fights by submission, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can submit Fialho, who’s never tapped out.
Women’s Flyweight: Tracy Cortez (-142) vs. Melissa Gato (+120)
Fans will also be treated to women’s flyweight action when Tracy Cortez (9-1-0) goes one-on-one with Melissa Gato (8-0-2).
After losing her MMA debut, Cortez has won nine straight fights and has gone 4-0 in the UFC. Although her streak isn’t as long, Gato has won three fights in a row with her last two victories coming via TKO.
Flyweight: Kleydson Rodrigues (-375) vs. C.J. Vergara (+300)
Two relatively recent UFC newcomers will look to make a name for themselves when Kleydson Rodrigues (7-1-0) faces C.J. Vergara (9-3-1).
Rodrigues hasn’t lost a fight since July 2015, going a perfect 6-0 since then. At the same time, Vergara enters the fight after losing his last bout to Ode Osbourne, by unanimous decision, at UFC 268.
Women’s Strawweight: Ariane Carnelossi (+164) vs. Lupita Godinez (-196)
An early prelims women’s strawweight bought will pit Ariane Carnelossi (14-2-0) against Lupita Godinez (7-2-0).
After losing to Angela Hill, by TKO, in her UFC debut, Carnelossi has gone a solid 2-0 in her subsequent fights. It’ll be interesting to see how Godinez fares against her after fighting four times in 2021, going 2-2 in those bouts.
Bantamweight: Journey Newson (+112) vs. Fernie Garcia (-132)
Journey Newson (9-3-0) makes his MMA return nearly two years after getting knocked out by Randy Costa in September 2020.
He’ll have a tough test, though, as he faces Fernie Garcia (10-1-0), who enters UFC 274 riding a five-fight winning streak.
