Moreno Favored to Win Interim Flyweight Title

Judging by the above odds, it’s easy to see that Moreno is the clear-cut favorite to become the new interim flyweight champion at UFC 277.

Moreno’s best odds to win the gold come from BetMGM at -225. To paint things clearer, those odds translate to an implied probability of 69.2%. Considering that the 28-year-old “Assassin Baby” is a former flyweight champion, it’s hard not to like those odds.

Fans haven’t seen Moreno compete in about six months, though. The last time he stepped foot in the octagon was when he was defending the UFC Flyweight Championship in a third bought against Figueiredo.

While the first fight ended in a draw and the second with a victory for Moreno, he ultimately lost the third in the trilogy by unanimous decision.

The road to winning the flyweight championship won’t be easy for Moreno. It could be argued that Kara-France is one of the hottest fighters on the planet, having won four of his last five UFC fights and 12 of his last 14 overall.

Fortunately for Kara-France, the 29-year-old boasts an 86% takedown defense rate. He can certainly hold his own against grapple-happy opponents and time will tell what his game plan is to defeat Moreno at UFC 277.
