The MMA world is buzzing with excitement this week as UFC 276 is scheduled for this weekend. The UFC’s latest pay-per-view event will be taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, July 2.
Though most matchups on the card should be entertaining, one bout that’s catching a lot of attention is the co-main event of the night. UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski (24-1) will defend his title against former champion Max Holloway (23-6).
This fight will be the third meeting between the two rivals, with Volkanovski having won the previous two. Can Holloway finally buck that trend? Or will history repeat itself in Las Vegas?
Fortunately, the latest betting odds help shed some light on the Volkanovski vs. Holloway co-main event. Here’s a look at those odds, as well as the best bet for the featherweight championship tilt.

Volkanovski Looks to Sweep Trilogy at UFC 276
Some fighters just seem to have a competitor’s number and that’s what has been the case between Volkanovski and Holloway.
The duo met for the first time at UFC 245 back in December 2019. Holloway entered as the UFC Featherweight Champion, having made successful defenses against the likes of José Aldo, Brian Ortega and Frankie Edgar. Unfortunately, that didn’t prepare him for what was next.
Although their first fight went the distance, Volkanovski ended up walking out as the champion due to a unanimous decision victory. The Australian dominated the first three rounds of the fight and it was just too much for Holloway to handle.
Volkanovski and Holloway clashed in a rematch at UFC 251, but the result was the same. The champion retained his gold via split decision, sending Holloway back down the rankings and needing to fight his way back if he wanted a third match.
That’s exactly what Holloway did as he’s won two fights in a row following that second loss to Volkanovski. He’s earned ‘Fight of the Night’ honors in back-to-back unanimous decision victories over Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodríguez, needing to now parlay that momentum into a memorable performance at UFC 276.
On the other hand, nobody has been able to stop the runaway train known as Volkanovski. After his last meeting with Holloway, the 33-year-old went the distance and beat Ortega unanimously before scoring a TKO victory over Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273 back in April.
Both men are fighting for the right to call themselves the best that the featherweight division has to offer. As hot as Holloway has been, though, there’s a reason why Volkanovski hasn’t lost a fight in nearly a decade.
UFC 276 Betting Markets & Trends for Volkanovski vs. Holloway
Even though it can be fun picking the outright winner of a fight, there are other markets that can spice things up. Here’s a look at some of the more specific betting options that BetOnline Sportsbook is offering for Volkanovski vs. Holloway at UFC 276.
The method of victory that’s being favorite is a Volkanovski decision win at +125 odds. Seven of the champion’s last 10 fights have gone the distance, each resulting in a win for him. In fact, he’s 9-0 in his career when his fights reach the time limit.
As for Holloway, his top method of victory is also to win by decision at +320. Five of his six career losses have been by decision, including two to Volkanovski.
For fans hoping that this fight will be a long one, BetOnline is also favoring the UFC 276 co-main event to go the distance at -196.
If the featherweight title bout isn’t decided by decision, Volkanovski is favored to win the fight with a first-round knockout (+1400). Of his 12 career knockout wins, five have occurred in Round 1.
Volkanovski vs. Holloway Fight Prediction
Though the saying is “the third time’s the charm,” I’m still going with Volkanovski defeating Holloway at UFC 276. It’s going to be a great fight, no doubt, but I can’t see the champion losing after putting the challenger in his place twice.
As for the top bet, I recommend taking a Volkanovski decision victory at +125 odds. He likes longer fights and it’s clearly been working out in his favor. Considering the duo’s previous two meetings went the distance, I don’t see why this one will be any different.
