See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Atlanta Braves have spent most of the last couple of weeks on the road, but tonight they will be back in front of a home crowd as they kick off a ten-game homestand with a matchup against the Seattle Mariners (7:20 pm ET, Apple TV+).
Atlanta (27-16) finished up on the road for the time being by taking two of three against the Texas Rangers in a matchup of division leaders. Now they are back at Truist Park for a trio of challenging series against the Mariners, Dodgers, and Phillies.
For the Mariners (21-22), tonight’s game is the opener of the last series of their three-series, nine-game road trip, and they will be looking to bounce back after losing two of three at Boston.
Who will take the win to begin this intriguing interleague matchup? Read on for our prediction and best bets for today’s Mariners vs Braves game.

Pitching Matchup for Mariners vs Braves
- Seattle Mariners: RHP Bryce Miller (2-0, 0.47 ERA)
- Atlanta Braves: RHP Bryce Elder (3-0, 1.94 ERA)
Older Elder Looking for Big Birthday Win
Tonight’s game in Atlanta features a Bryce vs Bryce matchup on the mound, and both are going into it looking to stay unblemished in the loss column.
The Bryce starting for the home team also happens to be celebrating his 24th birthday today, and he will no doubt be hoping to mark the occasion with a win.
Injuries have affected Max Fried and Kyle Wright, but Elder is one of three Braves starters with eight or more starts this season and has the best ERA of that group, with Charlie Morton at 2.85 and MLB strikeout leader Spencer Strider at 2.96.
Elder has allowed two or fewer runs in six of his eight starts, including three times in his four home starts. This month, he has allowed three runs, 12 hits, and five walks and struck out 13 in 17.1 innings across three starts.
As good as that is, it doesn’t compare to what Miller has done in his first three MLB starts. He has gone at least six innings in each start, and in 19 innings, he has allowed just one run, seven hits, and one walk.
The Oakland Athletics, Houston Astros, and Detroit Tigers have not beena ble to solve the 24-year-old. Will Atlanta? The Braves are 18-8 in games following a win (second in MLB behind the Tampa Bay Rays), while the Mariners are just 6-8 as an underdog and 10-11 in games following a loss.
Seattle Mariners vs Atlanta Braves Prediction and Best Bets
Prediction for Mariners vs Braves: Braves to win
Best Bets for Mariners vs Braves: Mariners/Braves over 8.5 & Ronald Acuna Jr. to record a run
While Miller and Elder have both been outstanding to this point, trends for the season favor the over here. The over is 15-10-1 in Atlanta’s games following a win, 14-5-0 in Atlanta’s home games, and 11-5-1 in Atlanta’s interleague games.
Also, the Mariners have gone two or more games without scoring four or more runs only three times thus far this season, so after scoring just three runs at Boston on Wednesday, they are due to bounce back on the scoreboard tonight, win or lose.
Also, the three previous instances this season that the Braves played at home after their previous game was a road game, the games finished with 13, 10, and 13 runs.
If you’re looking for some player prop bets, Ronald Acuna Jr. is the way to go. Acuna, who leads the league in runs scored, has scored at least one run in 27 of 43 games this season (62.7%). And if you think he will take his home run streak to five consecutive games, he is +330 to go deep tonight.
