The Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals wrap up a four game series today with some afternoon baseball to close it out. The home team got the best of their visiting opponents in the first two games, but last night the Twins shutout Kansas City in order to avoid the sweep. Today, Minnesota looks to head back home for the weekend with at least a series split, where as the Royals will hope to win their second straight series.
None of these games have been full of runs, with the highest total coming Monday with six runs scored. Does that mean we are in for some fireworks today? Both teams are bottom 10 in batting average, with the Twins ranking 4th to last hitting just .203 so far this season. The Royals aren’t much better at .222, however just like last year, Kansas City seems much more comfortable all around at home, and that may come into play today.

I’ve dug into my hometown team and found both a pick on a F5 side and a player prop as well. Get ready to swallow some homer chalk, but I think the boys are going to be playing some ball today at the K.

Twins vs Royals Prediction: Royals Win, Over 8
Best Bets: Royals F5 ML (-130) BetOnline
The Royals are simply a different team at home. Let me explain. Last season this team hit .248 overall, but that number jumped to .260 at home, including a 20 point jump in OPS. So far this season, they hit .222 overall but .228 at home. It’s not much of a change, but it’s also way early in the season.
The point is, the Royals are better at the K. Way better. Plain and simple.
They have 9 hitters listed on batters-box.com (Do NOT Forget the Hyphen) with an elite fastball rating today, and thankfully Ober throws that often. He’s a three trick pony, throwing a four seam, a slider and a change up, with some other pitches mixed in less than 10% of the time. Ober throws a low velocity fastball (90.5 mph AVG) on 43% of his pitches, allowing the Royals’ hitters to have a good feel for what’s coming. Neither of his offspeed pitches are more than 10 mph off his fastball, so there’s little variance when it comes to his average pitch speed.
As for Wacha, the Royals starter hasn’t been too great this season, but I think he may turn it around against the Twins who can’t seem to get their offense going. Give me the Royals F5 ML for some push potential and to eliminate the bullpen.
Best Player Prop: Bobby Witt Jr Over 1.5 Bases (+100) BetOnline
We will also be on Bobby’s bases today. He’s had doubles in back to back games and sees the ball very well against Ober. In 19 at bats, he is hitting .474 with two triples, a homerun and 5 total RBIs with just 2 strikeouts. The man is hitting .277 with that jumping to .286 at home, and again, he has a great matchup rating against Ober, and an elite fastball matchup. This is a recipe for success for the Royals, and I see Bobby Witt doing his part in this game.
